Kawai Shu is a retired Japanese actor. Although he stopped his entertainment activities in 2000, he continued to interact with his co-stars of Kakuranger, and as will be described later, he made public appearances at key times.

In 2009, he appeared on Toei Channel's Pinspo. He was interviewed alongside Ogawa Teruaki, Hirose Hitomi, and Tsuchida Hiroshi. Following the Great East Japan Earthquake, he sent a message to children on the Twitter "Hero" set up by Ogawa.

In 2024, he approached to appear in the 30th anniversary production of Ninja Sentai Kakuranger: Act Three - Middle-Aged Struggles and played the role of Seikai for the first time in 30 years.
