Nam Tae Hyun
- Name: Nam Tae Hyun
- Native name: 남태현
- Also Known as: Nam Tae Hyeon, Nam Taehyun,
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Male
- Born: May 10, 1994
- Age: 31
He joined YG Entertainment (YG엔터테인먼트) as a trainee in early 2011 and worked as a backup dancer during the YG Family Concert that year. Then, in 2013, he was chosen as part of the agency's Team A and participated in the Mnet reality survival show "WIN: Who Is Next", competing against other trainees in Team B for the chance to debut as a group. Ultimately, Team A won, and Team B had to wait longer, eventually debuting as iKON.
He made his debut in August 2014 as WINNER's main vocalist and maknae with their first album, "2014 S/S".
In 2015, he made his acting debut in the web drama "Midnight Girl".
But, in October 2016, he halted all promotional activities and began treatment for mental health issues. The following month, he withdrew from the group and decided to leave YG.
In March 2017, he founded his own music label, South Buyers Club, later rebranded as The South (더사우스). He then re-debuted in May of that year as SOUTH CLUB's leader, main vocalist, guitarist and composer with their single "Hug Me", part of their first EP, "90", which was released the following month. In 2019, he decided to close his music label, and he and the band transitioned to P&B Entertainment (P&B엔터테인먼트).
He began his career as a solo artist in September 2018 with the digital single "Star". Since 2022, he has transitioned more into a soloist, and while SOUTH CLUB has not disbanded, they have not released any new material since mid-2020. He also opened a new music label, Noname Music (노네임뮤직).
However, in March 2023, he was booked for drunk driving and decided to close his label. Then, in July of that year, he appeared in an episode of "In-Depth 60 Minutes", where he revealed his drug addiction, first to diet and prescription pills to maintain his weight low during his time in WINNER. Later, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he took stronger drugs as he fell into depression and anxiety when he had no job opportunities.
He entered a rehab center but lost most of his friends and family who did not want to associate with him. He sold his assets to pay some of his debts but struggled financially and mentally.
He is now a spokesperson in drug prevention campaigns and is working diligently to fully recover and rebuild his career. He released the digital single "On the Edge of the Night" in January 2025 and is now active again on his YouTube channel.
He is currently not represented by any agency.
