I watched the finale of *Blossom of Power* today; I had purchased the final episodes. I have to say I found the story phenomenal; every day at noon (Dutch time), I was glued to the TV. Unfortunately, the chemistry between the male and female leads wasn't great. I preferred the second male lead. The Crown Prince, with his ruthless, "razor-sharp" mindset. And the "Ice Queen" YiHe didn't really win me over; that was mainly because Meng Ziji acts just like a doll—she barely conveys any emotion, seemingly focused only on looking beautiful in every shot. It gets tiresome. The ending could have been better, too; it was a bit lackluster. She smells him, sees him, stares at him, hugs him—and that’s it. She shows absolutely no emotion, despite not having seen him for four years. He has a few silver strands of hair, but the female lead looks like a doll with big eyes and way too much makeup. I would have preferred to see He Yu paired with a different actress in this drama. She simply didn't match his level of acting.
