you lasted longer than me lol. I dropped it in Episode 6. I know the FL is meant to be you V, but I also wished…
The thing is, it's ok to have a stubborn FL, I can understand that, AS LONG AS she's learning - even if little by little - with her mistakes... Which didn't happen and based on what I've read here it'll NOT happen... So, no thank you, not my cup of tea... The actress and Xiao Zhan deserved better :(
Ok, at EP 19 and almost dropping. First, the show completely depowered Chai Jing, which annoyed me AF cause I wish it could've developed better her character/relation with FL. Plus you don't get to see a lot of female guards, and it was really a different approach, I loved it... I can only image censorship cut her plot cause it looked like too lesbian lol. Second, the femicide of her mother (and lover) by her father was really uncalled for. It's the cheap women in refrigerator trope, just to fuel her revenge against her father. It's very infuriating that the show made her mother walk again and stay with the guy he loved just to to kill them in the next episode. No amount of revenge will make me gloss over this, it's just outright bad writing. Also, by EP 19 she still cannot trust the ML (and I wouldn't too), it's bizarre cause they are supposed to be a power couple, the amount of misunderstanding are ridiculous... Anyway, I'll just go to watch another drama and maybe come back to this one eventually (or not lol).
Ok, I REALLY tried. I manage to watch 12 episodes, but never in my life I had to forward entire scenes because I was bored and irritated. The FL is INSUFFERABLE. She's an idiot and I hate her. Yes, she'll probably mature in the late part of the story, but it's unbearable for me. I only started this series because of Xiao Zhan, and not even him made me stay.
The drama had a strong beginning, but unfortunately, it began to unravel towards the end. During the investigation…
I thought the same, but then I thought that it was good cause it provided an opportunity for the head maid who was a gray-ish unlikable character to redeem herself by giving back the necklace...
I'm at episode 09 and considering dropping cause I read some ppl say there's homophobia in a few episodes ahead. Honestly, it's 2024, I can "understand" Chinese censorship, but blatant homophobia? No thanks.
First off I'm sorry that this show is so triggering to you. Recently watched one that triggered me because they…
Thanks for your kind message! I usually don't keep much track of the shows I watch here on MDL, but yes, Thai BLs are getting better in depicting LGBT issues. Even Korean BLs are getting better in this sense too. I was frustrated cause I think JH and AJ weren't thinking about DH at all, because "love" while DH can't even have the same thing as a closeted gay person.
JH is a terrible brother. I'm sorry, but as a LGBT person I cannot sympathize with him at all. Some people have already said that what they (JH and AJ) are doing to DH was really underhanded as JH didn't know the marriage was fake. But AFTER learning about it he feels butthurt cause they didn't tell him? WTF the marriage was something to protect DH's secret in the first place, of course AJ wouldn't tell him, if she did she'd be a terrible friend. AJ was not forced as JH implies to DH, she agreed to all that. There was a f*cking contract for god's sake. I hate JH character so much cause he's NOTHING but unsupportive of his gay brother. And he wonders why DH hasn't told him about his sexuality. Yet JH makes it looks like DH is selfish cause he is FORCED to be in the closet?? Hello, conservative Korean society? Do people think its cool to be on the closet? Do STRAIGHT people have ANY idea of how stressful and terrible it is to have to hide your loved ones from anyone? Let's not talk about same-sex-marriage, but even introducing your partner to your friends/family. It restricts your FREEDOM. You can only love in secrecy. This aspect is never mentioned in this show. On top of all that there's the stalker ex making DH extremely anxious of being outed, and I'll not even start on the villainous stepbrothers. I'm really upset because I started to watch this show to see how they'd develop a gay character as a main character in a major K-drama, but it is outright homophobic.
