Low budget, short episodes, but surprisingly BIG on entertainment! ?
The Shadow Sovereign was such a pleasant surprise. The costumes, acting and storyline were genuinely good, and Princess Zhao Yang was exactly my kind of FL. Smart, calculating, fearless and always three steps ahead. 👏
Yes, you can see the budget limitations and the story could easily have been stretched into a full length drama, but honestly, I enjoyed the fast pace and lack of unnecessary filler.
Great chemistry between the leads, plenty of palace scheming, and a satisfying story that kept me hooked.
Sometimes you do not need a huge budget when you have a good story and characters worth watching. I would happily take another 20 episodes of this one. 😂
Definitely one of the better micro dramas I have watched.
