On Never-Ending Summer 1 day ago
I just finished reading the entire novel yesterday and I have to say that the people who have watched this drama and felt unsatisfied about the cuts in the episodes and lack of proper flow in the drama, reading the novel is a must!!
I really really enjoyed the drama, I often felt that the storyline kept jumping from one place to another, there was no proper connection between one scene and the next and a lot of scenes were often unexplained.
I really liked the main leads of this drama and their characters and I resolved to read the novel to better understand them and their character depth.
And I have to say I enjoyed it sooo much! I highly recommend reading the novel to get over the after-slump of this drama lol.
To be honest, the storyline is very different compared to the drama. They probably changed it due to chineaguidelines cuz in the novel the leads start dating during their school days.
I also think that Lu Xi Xiao's character is kind of very different in the novel, just for a heads up. One of the reasons i really liked the drama was because of how gentle the male lead was with zhou wan. However, in the novel, Lu Xi Xiao was the classic bad boy in the school. He dated tons of girls and changed girlfriends every now and then. Even during their dating arc, he was usually not gentle with her, and would get angry and jealous whenever she would interact with other men. His anger was just not speaking lol, and then zhou wan had to coax him lol.
After the whole breakup and everything and the timeskip, when they first met was when zhou wan was drunk and walked up to him cuz he looked familiar. At that moment, Lu Xi Xiao literally pushed her to the wall aggressively and was very angry that she showed up. Their feelings after the breakup and timeskip was better explained in the novel in my opinion. So you should definitely check it out!

The drama execution is much better considering that the novel was even more this dynamic anyway.

honestly yea. as much as i find them playing house cute, i do think it’s like him raising her and umm.. then…
exactlyy, I wish they emphasized their friendship which they had when they were younger. Now that they've grown, their whole playful dynamic just vanished and it just looks like he's just raising her. I wish they made it like they were still playful but took care of each other rather than just him taking care of her. I mean he's not that much older than her just like 2-3 years older T_T

I wish they didn't make their relationship where she's dependent on him. Ofc it makea sense cuz she's still in school and needs the kind of money she can't make alone but it just feels so messed up to think they're going to end up together 😭 he refers to her as "a kid he needs to take care of" and also refers to himself as her brother and shows up to formal events??? Call each other family constantly 😭😭😭 idk it just doesn't sit right with me, i need to wait for more episodes to air and hope all this situation gets better...

In my opinion, many people were just drawn in by the star-studded cast, lavish visuals, and the fresh idea of…
completely agree with you T-T one thing this drama lacks is depth in the storyline. Also, the execution of the drama did not make me care for the leads at all. It seems like the drama just wants to deliver visually without putting much effort in the depth of the plot.
I also want to mention that I'm a fan of both the leads and have watched their previous works as well, however, this is just not my cup of tea. Of course it's nothing wrong if you enjoy it but I was really hoping the storyline would have more depth and the leads would rely more on emotions rather than just quirks and visuals.
Another reason I can't enjoy this drama seems to be because they've written the female lead so typically. This drama would've ate with any other fl character and I know IU would've pulled it off but it the script is written that way then what can she do T-T

I devoured it in two days, and it was because it was so good that it felt like the episodes were only 20 minutes…
how was hyeong uk a jerk?? he was such a good friend? Regardless of Se-ah not telling Nari about her dating geonwoo, Nari's actions are not justified at all. Se-ah only found out that nari liked geonwoo after they started dating, what was she supposed to do? It's such an awkward situation where you can't blame anyone. Also yes, nari did hear and see illusions but she wasn't ready for any explanations? Hyeonguk went through the same thing but realized that it's most likely not his friends cuz he trusted them. Yes it's understandable how nari ended up like that, but her original character and personality contributed to how she ended up.

Contrary to the majority of opinions I'm seeing here, I think I enjoyed the show so much. It was gripping and fast-paced, which made it super fun to watch, and honestly, I enjoyed it wayy more than I expected myself to. Of course it's not a masterpiece, however I really think it's a great show regardless.
One of my favorite parts was the backstory of the curse, the acting was soo good, and the characters were depicted with enough depth for me to care for them and feel for them!

tbh I don't think nari would've died so fast easily? Kinda annoying tbh, I would've wanted her to come out alive and be guilty for the things she did, she became beyong redeemable in the last episode

Tired of people privately messaging me and going to my reviews and commenting the same ghing so here is thisTo…
I get that tbh but honestly, the whole curse was pretty unpredictable, even when they tried to remove the app and timer and stuff, geonwoo started rubbing his eyes wildly and all that happened. I do think this would've crossed my mind but I would think that it would lead to some kind of butterfly effect you know? Besides it's so much better that they added more depth to ending the curse rather than just wishing to stop it, I think people would've greatly criticized the show otherwise.

the fml is really pretty, it's just the hairstyle that sucks. Also people are getting so comfortable in comment sections, there's no need to judge people's appearances like this

They were never siblings TT o TT . Mumu's father only took ML in to raise him bcuz he was his close friend's son…
I meant they basically lived like siblings. Besides, he was adopted by her parents, as stated in the synopsis T-T

not justifying anything related to the fl. Ahjin really needed that damn wake-up call because she didn't know when to stop using people and to what extent. However, Junseo's method was not it. He exposed her, yes, but did it in the most horrible way possible. He painted her to look inhuman, made all her actions seem to be done just out of spite and purely evil, which was not the case at all. I'm not trying to defend what she did at all, but there were layers and layers of reasons she did what she did and turned out the way she did. Skipping all that explanation when he knows it so well and just flatly talking about her "diagnosis," how she was involved in the deaths of people, and how she uses people. NOT ONCE did he talk about the abusers in her life. Her mom, father, the bully from high school, and now her husband. There are villains in her life who led her to become like this and continue to push her to her limits. This is why Junseo would never come to understand Ahjin because he is self-righteous, and this just shows that he always looked at her as if she were a monster (even though he loved her, which doesn't even make sense - again, bad character writing)
I know her actions were crazy bad because of the innocent people she hurt, and that's why people really wanted to see her downfall. But, this expose was not it. It lacked the essence and the impact it should've had. Regardless of what she did, she is not the worst person in her life. Her dad, her husband, they both are worse than her, and them being let off and not exposed is just so annoying to me. Junseo ruined it all; he could've explained her persona better, not just painted her evil. It was a documentary, not a frickin yt video for clickbait. I couldn't believe they included the high school bully in their documentary, too, knowing how unreasonable and insane she herself is, which really questions the authenticity and effort put into it.
