We want our BL/gay stories like we want our coffee, strong, hot, and unapologetically bold. Keep it real or keep it to yourselves. The demand for authenticity isn't gonna stop people from writing BL/gay stories. It’s gonna stop them from censoring those stories. No more censored kisses, no more "they're just friends"

Who are we to care so much? We are concerned citizens, of course! We have a right to care. What kind of world do you live in? I refuse to live in a world where we can only care about things that the majority agrees on or cares about

Chapters 50 to 89 cover the development of the second gay couple's relationship. That's a lot of content. They could have bidden farewell to the unnecessary straight storyline or extended the drama to accommodate both gay couples. The second gay couple deserves more than a cameo in the final moments

"Values change over time" is an excuse to avoid making changes. We can't wait for society to catch up. Starting conversations on the importance of gay representation, demanding better representation, this is how we will change society

Chan Young and Ji Yu were in the friend zone, they didn't end up together, and that's not what the story should be about. It's healthy to be angry that the spotlight isn't being kept on the gay romance

Happy BLs are a form of activism. They push back against the common belief that gay relationships are negative, unhappy, or doomed

The issue with "Jazz for Two" wasn't the depiction of internalized homophobia. It was the lack of nuanced and sensitive handling of the subject matter. The resolution was hasty and unfulfilling. The characters experienced an abrupt change of heart. They didn't undergo a journey of personal growth and understanding

It makes sense that "straight" identifying women are drawn to BL. The genre doubles the presence of male characters

Issues arise when insensitive comments are made. "He's hot, I can change him," "I can wear a strap-on for him," "why are all the good ones gay." Expressions of possessiveness over male characters diminish the significance of gay content. Women should respect the male characters' romantic involvement with each other

I agree with valuing GL and BL equally. Valuing both allows for a more comprehensive understanding of the lesbian/gay experience

The masculine top/feminine bottom dynamic is a valid expression of gay relationships, but introducing masculine top/masculine bottom or versatile dynamics would be a refreshing change

Dramas are, at their core, forms of entertainment. Not every gay story should be a story of discrimination. A gut-wrenching, tissue-soaking story that sends our beloved gay couples six feet under doesn't entertain me

We are not in a never-ending melodramatic soap opera of doom and gloom to be defined by our struggles. We laugh, we love. Positive gay stories can go a long way in raising awareness. Showing that we fret over mundane matters, bad hair days or if our partners will eat the last slice of pizza, will remind the world that gay people are human. This is a slice of insight worth sharing

No industry is "concerned about representation." Industries are like politicians during election season. Whether they are churning out "straight" stories to appease the homophobic masses or sprinkling in gay stories to keep up with demand, they are after your hard-earned cash

Their intentions aren't noble. The end result is noble and still representation for the gay community
