let’s not forget that this is fiction and a series after all..
I mean, I don't think that's a reasonable excuse since the show tries to present itself as realistic (and also dramatic in some parts). Tweaking Solar's plot a little bit in order to hide/ignore the elephant in the room (them ignoring doctors, specifically) would have made things better, but at the end of the day this is just my humble opinion.
