There's nothing wrong with the full circle moment. But when someone is appointed regent, he's not supposed to go to other side of the country. He's supposed to actually rule? every single day? at court with the ministers and court officials??? If he wasn't going to stay there until the kid became of age, then I would've liked the writers to come up with another character to become regent.

Loved the show so much but the plot hole in the last episode regarding the male lead becoming prince regent to rule until the kid emperor became of legal age to rule himself. But then him and fl basically abandoned the empire to a child and an inexperienced mother just for a romantic, full-circle "back to the butcher shop" callback completely breaks the political reality the show spent so much time building. I'm halfway through it and don't even feel like finishing the rest.

I didn't read the novel, but maybe they were in a situationship for six years because they don't actually talk? it's just office and bedroom, no in-between?

and the male lead is not half as hot 😭

I haven't read the novel, but in the show they are both annoying. Female lead just misunderstands everything due to inferiority complex probably and he doesn't bother to clear anything up. He's very good at his job but he sucks at romantic relationship. Their lack of communication really ruins everything.

this show was wrapped up so perfectly and it had such an amazing run. Thank you to all the staff, producers, writer and especially our talented main actors who made this show into what it is.

im on ep 14 and a bit confused. Whos that child who appears once in a while? i thought it was Li Ni in flashbacks, but then they mentioned shiqi and im confused. Both the kid and LiNi are the emperors grandsons so what am i missing?
