If you're watching because you liked the novel, and you liked the novel because the worldbuilding was unique and all the characters were so different from your standard cookiecutter Xianxia characters, don't bother watching this.
It's baffling to me how they managed to remove all the characteristics that made the novel unique, and ended up with yet another carbon copy Xianxia drama. And the ending... HE, technically, I guess, but what was the point of changing it like that??
The show itself... it's probably likeable, without the comparison to the novel. But I just can't. Highly recommend the novel, though.
