I find Lin Jin Lou's character very genuine about his feelings towards the women. He never loved nor liked them at all. He just wanted someone who could bear him children and get along with him.

He was very possessive and demanding.

That was his perception on women. Over time, he began to realise that Xianglan was really someone he could love and grow old with. That's why he wanted to marry her as his official wife.

Song Ke gave up Xiang Lan for his ambition. But, he gained nothing in the end except he was able to escape death in his current universe.

Xiang Lan loved him because even when he thought he was not going to survive his injuries, he still wanted to provide and take care of her. That is not a Stockholm syndrome, TBH.

She could have left him for good but she decided to give him a chance because she knew he was not a bad person.

The plot is way too boring for us who are sophisticated when it comes to C-drama silly plots ie. the Veterans aka the Vets.

Liu Xueyi playing a bad guy is my only dream. He was in Destined and he cmpletely stole the show right under the ML's nose. He was better than the ML in that drama.

His new drama, Against the Current, is being filmed. The ML in the novel is a rascal who is aggressive, ruthless and doesn't hesitate to kick and slap women who go against him. Imagine Liu Xueyi playing this character. I would love the production team stick to the novel but apparently not. I hope they don't turn the ML a lovesick puppy.
