Men view women as objects. Idk when this mentality will change.
Yes. In this drama as well, there is a proper organisation for trafficking which is most likely based in a city or province, and most of these cases are happening are in remote places or in villages.

Agree. That’s why women empowerment is so important. Though this is a drama, but if we talk about a real life circumstance, then in the local police, the men’s probably would have the same mentality or be indulge in corruption. That’s why it is easier for these people to do such things without the fear of consequences because they know that we have people in higher position who will help us. Also, I just realise since the drama is set in 2009, it overlaps with the time when China’s one child policy was still in effect. Maybe that’s why trafficking cases were more common.

i'm not sure if you're asian or familiar with the cultural context, but i totally get it. the sad reality is many of these man come from backgrounds where they have grown up hearing that women are inferior, esp in uneducated or low-income environments. so they internalize the belief of treating women as a property rather than a human. in asia, this kind of mentality is still there, tho people are changing. but you can find these kinda people in areas where education and awareness haven’t reached deeply. some asian countries are still several decades behind western nations in terms of gender equality and how women are viewed. this drama is based in 2009, just 16 years ago- at a time when women as an object mentality that she is not human but an object for my amusement, i can do what i want with her was quite prevalent. ofc things have changed and are changing but still this mentality hasn't vanished overnight. also, about women, today we say "she's a girl's girl", but sometimes as show depicts women can be the biggest enemy of other woman, which also adds a painful layer to it.
Julia Xiang and WXY do have zero chemistry at least as a couple. They have more of a brother and sister energy.…
right, when julia and peacock zhuge started working on the case together, I can sense the chemistry a little. Romance is not the major theme, but still I thought that would he be their love rival lol😭
hope it doesn't disappoint
