I don't know whom I like less of the two. XD But the drama is very well done, realistic and addictive. I love how they are both changing and growing, while staying consistent at the core. I guess this is what will lead to the breakup, not being really on the same page nor on the same level from day 1 till today.

They matter also to keep a party in a relationship even when it's not the best for them. Curious to see why she leaves him, I haven't read the novel. For the moment I feel he doesn't fully appreciate her yet and her emotions are also a bit superficial. Clearly he likes her very much and he's fond of her, while she respects him and value his professional guidance. Plus attraction is obv there on both sides. Hehe. PS I'm biased because for the moment I don't find him attractive at all (as a character, of course, in real life he's a very handsome and talented young man :))

I think he will change and self reflect once he loses her. There are people wired in a certain way, but if they acknowledge it and learn to change their behaviours is fine (not identity, but behaviours). Not all psychopath become serial killers and not all narcissist become abusers, luckily. Not that he is either, he's just not treating her as an equal partner yet.

Yeah you're right, it's not only the age gap but more the power dynamic within the relationship.

Interesting, is it like that in your culture? And is it something common in personal and in professional settings? And both men towards women and viceversa? In the drama it seems he drops it at random times, honestly, not really as some sort of feedback cause she doesn't do stupid things, or? I will pay in any case more attention to the context. PS In my culture it is fine to give negative feedback and you can joke calling close friends stupid, but in a relationship when it's an older man doing it towards a younger woman it is seen as toxic because it could be a way to keep pushing the woman down and control her.

I lose my mind every time he calls her stupid. One compiment one insult, and in the end he keeps her in this relationship without really considering her a partner on the same level. I can't wait for them to break up and to meet hopefully after he grew up. I'm enjoying this drama, but I wish they made us understand a bit more why she likes him so much. It has to do mostly with professional respect, but don't tell us, please show us!

Mmm... the fact she joined his company is stalkerish behaviour. If someone did that in real life they would be a problematic fan. It would have been much better if she ended up by chance in a company he ends up collaborating after she joined!

I really enjoyed this! And the final love confessions were perfect! I loved that both, especially FL, went back to her old self. The whole audit plot was not that credible, in real life she would have been off the team the moment he joined the company cause of their relatioship. Plus they were not being very discrete about how close they were outside of work, so how come evil guy didn't suspect way before. But a part from that, strong drama.

Did they ask a short drama director to direct this. And don't let me start on the writing. T_T

Do you think they are together or not? The intense staring has not the same impact as before the kiss, in my opinion. Before it was building up to something, now it makes me wonder if they are a bit unsure about what they want for their future. Or are they both very shy? Is it only me?

It's cultural, I guess. But at least let's agree that 18-28 is not the same as 28-38, 28-38 not the same as 38-48 and so on. My point is that pairing teens and adults in romance settings (is some cases with lots of intimacy too, not here I know) has implications on how a certain age gap is viewed and accepted in a certain society. It's not about professionalism or whatever, it's just that a teen and an adult are not the same, science tells us so. Some teens are more mature, some teens have been working since childhood, you are right, but nevertheless not all teens in that society are. In some cultures child marriage is OK, for instance. Having that represented in that specific country movies is on one hand showing reality as it is, but it's also somehow validating that specific social model over and over. I don't have a problem with this drama and I try not to judge other cultures, but some of the things you all are saying are not really answering to my initial comment. You don't need an actress or actor of the same age of fictional characters, you need someone that looks that age and world is full of people that look younger, or older. The fact people are looking into their real ages proves my point, people look at those things and somehow considers them OK or not. The more you normalize something the more people will consider that OK. Even in a cultural setting where that is not considered OK at a specific moment in time. It's very easy to switch people views on certain things. Mine was simply a tentative to reflect about social implications of these kind of choices. We are all here to share our views on a drama we're watching and in my case enjoying. Not sure why you think I'm trying to impose my view on others? I'm just expressing my view.

Drama is good, acting is great, but they could have casted also a younger man who looked a bit older to give a chance also to a new male actor, no? I still think that there is a bit of a problem in the industry globally. As a woman, I wish the movie industry and the whole world was a safer place for teen girls. As a viewer, I like variety so I can understand when the age gap brings value to the story and it's showcased in the proper way, but here honestly it could have been avoided and it feels a bit like an empty trope (again, questioning the choice in the novel not the controversy). Still watching btw, cause drama is good. But I think it's still interesting to discuss the social topic.

I'm a bit confused cause there is no reason why the FL should be young from a plot perspective (talking character not actress for a moment). It would have been more realistic for her to be older, considering her level of craft. It takes years to perfect a craft, so why was it necessary for her to be very young? Talking about the controversy about the actress' age. I believe they should stop pairing teens with adults, it's way too widespread not to reflect about the implications. It somehow make such age gaps more acceptable in real life (you will notice most of the time the girl is the younger one). Exceptions exist, but normalizing such gaps when the girl is barely legal makes you wonder... is there an agenda in the movie industry? Not only Chinese industry, of course!!! This is probably even more common in other countries. Last thing, let me vent... next to her the ML looks much older compared to other recent dramas he starred in. T_T

Not really. And I feel he doesn't get it either, cause he doesn't seem to want revenge but just to have her around him to vex her a bit before trying to get back together... but maybe it's just me.

I don't get why he's so angry. Well, he actually isn't otherwise he would not behave like that when drunk and he would not worry for every little thing or be jealous... It's like they're both acting as if they were angry when they're clearly not and can't wait to be back together. It's a bit confusing. They should just be forgiving with their younger selves and get back together already.
