I have read the novel of this drama when I saw the BTS clips few months back, so I was so looking forward to this drama eagerly n started watching it as soon as it on aired though I wanted to wait till all episodes dropped but wasn't able to wait, but I think I should have waited to binge watch after all episodes aired, becos somehow I m feeling bored n not much excited now, also I feel the novel was better, the drama adaptation lacks proper execution n ckt portrayal.
It was an enjoyable watch, though seeing the comments n reviews I didn't watch past episode 30 as I didn't want to have a bad experience after having an enjoyable till 30 episodes, i love slow burn romance wen leads don't get together soon in a drama, becos after leads get together soon the drama becomes cheesy n boring for me n so I end up dropping the drama, so I loved that they got together so late that I continued to watch it till 30 episodes. I loved the comic element in this show so much, ml's mother and specially bao rui were so lovable n humorous ckts, i enjoyed their all scenes as they made me laugh out loud so much. And I agree with people saying that the fls acting somewat ruined the drama, didn't like her expressions n dialogue delivery most of the times, don't knw if it was ckt/script demand to act like that or she acts that way always, haven't seen her other dramas, so can't say.
I dropped it the first time after trying to watch it after LBFAD, the expectations were that huge. Also I didn't knw both the leads that time so didn't like them at all. But after watching MLC, I started warming up to chengyi and so thought to give this a try again after seeing it having great reviews n ranking,n so i tried again n enjoyed it, though it was mostly pain porn drama, the ml is always suffering too much like in tteom n spitting blood in amost every episode, so if u can endure that then u can try it again. Otherwise don't 😀
Nice one time watch worthy drama. But I always have complaint with any drama most of the times is that why they make the female lead only selfish, self centred n only career oriented, why make always only the male lead perfect, balancing both career, and lady love perfectly, wen in real it's mostly the opposite, females can care n manage love n career more perfectly, woman r compassionate and more giving in relationship but in dramas they show the opposite mostly? Why? Does it make the female watchers happy wen in comments I always see people hating the fl mostly saying she didn't deserve the ml, etc. for showing her like that, then y the drama makers still do that? This thing bugging me more n more so i vented it out here.
Overall a nice and sweet drama and I loved the fl of this drama though it's written by the same author of love Me love my voice(I didn't like how the fl in that one had no substance) so i was sceptical the fl in this would b same as the novel author was same bt surprisingly nd thankfully i instantly liked the fl in this one. But the drama was stretched a bit, would have loved less of sports scene, but u can ff them anyways. The drama also had bit gloomy vibes like the vibes u get from tragic ending love stories, though I knew it had happy ending but still while watching I felt anxious as if something bad is going to happen n fl ml would b seperated forever, idk why but I felt those vibes. The chemistry was so 🔥. So far I have watched 3 dramas of Wu lie and he had hot chemistry in all those 3 dramas with his fl. A bit more chemistry here as he had real n many kiss scenes in this one😉 so a nice experience of watching this drama.
This was a nice drama, i don't have any complaints with this drama after completing it, I didn't feel bored n enjoyed watching it, why r the people here complaining? The fl acting that way made the push n pull enjoyable so I don't mind it much. Specially i hate wen the fl keeps giving wrong signals to her male best frnd n keeps sailing in 2 boats, calling one guy her love n another best frnd ignoring the signs that the best frnd is into her clearly still leading him on, that's a turn off for me. Not wat the fl did in this, so I have no complaints with her unlike people here. 9/10 watching experience for me, also i enjoyed the 2nd lead couple too in this which happens rarely for me. Both were eye candies n had good story.
Yes, would have been more than ok if they added more substance to fl ckt n made the drama shorter. Like hidden love, it had both the above things and so it was such a hit drama.
The novel writer and consequently the writer of the show did a great disservice to the FL making her just react…
True n this happens to most of the novels n dramas adapted from them. It seems they hate woman to write them so shallow. If they write it for woman thinking we would love to see just perfect n great man n shallow woman then they r highly delusional.
Is the writer of the novel a teenager? She wrote a lousy FL ckt, gave her no substance, n jst wrote her perfect dream man n dream story. Actually there was no story. It was dating and cooking show with some songs. Also the director, why did he make the pretty fl run like a duck? She was so pretty bt I started to dislike her becos how she was always running with hands flapped like wings of duck. It was time pass drama with good songs n visuals (visuals include fl n ml, both looked very charming). Overall I felt bored the way it was dragged, n made it childish. Should have been 24 or less episode drama. Also till the end I couldn't tell whether fl was serious about ml or jst was living in a happy bubble of having good looking free chef with multiple talents, n so didn't bother to think abt her feelings. only ml looked serious abt her. So rather than shy she came out looking indifferent, thats y I said the writer wrote a lousy ckt for fl.
Overall enjoyed the drama after dropping it the first time, started again after few months, n it was worth it, the ending was the best part of all the pain we endure, making it the most satisfying ending of a xianxia drama I have watched so far.
44 episodes in, i m not able to ship anyone seriously in this although I enjoy the drama n the frndship between them. The intense love we wish to see in such dramas is lacking somehow. It's not slow burn even, it jst lacks love intensity, storywise. Maybe it's becos the SML also is doing so much sacrifices, equal to ML n sometimes more n have many scenes with fl that it takes away the charm from the love story of the leads. I wanted to enjoy the chemistry between leads but not able to sadly. Hopefully I see some growth in the remaining episodes n enjoy their chemistry becos i want to badly.
Edit: finally finished watching and like so many here I loved xuanye n ranqing love story so much though it was so short but it was more rootworthy n would have loved to watch the whole drama based on that theme 😍chengyi as bad boy xuanye totally nailed that role n looked so hot. Finally found something shipworthy. Though the main leads were good as individual ckts I wasn't able to ship them much or anyone else. Overall 8.5/10 experience.
U guys won't believe just few days back I was imagining XZ in modern cdrama having arranged marriage troupe as story n guess who I imagined the actress! Yes it was her, ZJY, randomly I imagined this, becos zjy is very pretty n i thought she would suit XZ lookwise. N wen I saw they r casted together in this, I was so shocked n pleasantly surprised, I felt prophetic or something , I m so happy n excited n waiting for this drama to air now for so many reasons other than XZ. 🥳 Hope it airs in 2024 only. 🤞

Can someone suggest me similar cdrama where there r many mysterious cases to solve! 😭 Other than untamed, I have watched that, and tried blood of youth n word of honor but they were not same or interesting enough for me. Too much martial art fights only in them so got bored. So pls suggest something similar to mlc.
Watching MLC n feeling li xiangyi role would have suited xiao zhan so much😓. As it is somewat similar to wei wuxian ckt. No offence to chengyi, he also is terrific there, but my bias is XZ so i felt I would have loved li xiangyi so much more if it was XZ playing it.
