I genuinely don't understand the confusion. People are acting as if they were raised together as siblings when they literally weren't. They didn't grow up in the same house, weren't introduced to each other as family, and didn't spend their childhood seeing each other as brother and sister.
Their parents getting together later doesn't magically rewrite their entire history
Y'all are acting like this is incest when the FL and ML were complete strangers for most of their lives 😭
They didn't grow up together, weren't raised as siblings, didn't share a household, and their families weren't even connected while they were growing up. The FL's mother isn't even married to the ML's father yet.
At what point were they ever brother and sister? A future connection between their parents doesn't suddenly erase the fact that they met as unrelated individuals and formed their relationship as unrelated individuals.
You don't have to like the trope, but calling it incest feels like a huge stretch TT
to be honest, if I put aside his character of Wu Zi Shu, can we just talk about how cute Wu Jun Ting looks ?? like, sometimes when I see his relaxed face, I can’t help but go " aww " 😭💗
I understand how you feel. I try to see this as a standalone storyline unrelated to the novel. The way it played…
i totally agree. and a completely unrelated thing, but i’m honestly glad it was you who replied and had a similar view to mine. i do get scared to share my opinions sometimes, since ppl can start attacking or hating TT, so it means a lot when someone understands instead.

i feel the same. the novel actually progressed in such a good and detailed way that it gave every moment the right weight, while here in the drama it feels a bit rushed at times. i get that they’re trying to stay close to the outline and fit everything into the limited episodes, but in doing that some of the depth and buildup gets lost. still, i do appreciate that they’re making the effort to follow the original story, even if the execution doesn’t always hit as hard as the novel.
honestly, i know dramas and novels are different, and i’m really not trying to compare them as a whole. but the way XJ found out the truth and the whole confrontation scene in the drama felt so underwhelming. XJ's reaction just didn’t hit the way it should have, he basically started screaming. i get his situation and how much the delay in reinforcement cost him, but he didn’t even let her explain, and on top of that, the fact that HY was actually poisoned, blinded, and killed was almost brushed aside. in the novel, i absolutely adored the confrontation because it carried so much weight and emotion. the drama’s version honestly left me disappointed.
