Blaming the genre makes no sense. The Republican melodrama style gave us classics like Too Late To Say I Love You and Cruel Romance, as well as hits like Fall in Love. Even low-budget short dramas like Circle of Love pulled off this exact exaggerated trope with great pacing and a solid script. The genre isn't the problem—the poor execution is!
