I really hate the plot where the female lead gets lost in the woods and the male lead has to rescue her.
On top of that, the male lead’s scolding lines are incredibly repulsive.
He criticizes the female lead for not separating personal and professional matters
Seriously?
As if he’s any better at keeping his personal and professional life separate.

I don’t think Hyun Bin’s acting is capable of carrying this role.

I am so sorry to hear that the main couple has no chemistry.
Because I think the male lead’s character is far more interesting than the second male lead’s.
Also, the male lead was born in 1863, and the female lead in 1875, so there is already an age gap built into the story itself.

No—you need to look into Eugene's eyes, not just his facial expressions. He’s not indifferent; he’s suppressing and restraining his feelings for Ae shin. Because she is someone else’s fiancée, because she is a noble lady, and because he comes from a slave background.

It's a pity you don't understand the significance of the male and female leads in this drama. FL symbolizes the patriotic spirit of the Korean people. She is a spiritual symbol, so she will always live. ML has a dual symbolism. On the one hand, he represents the Gojong era, with his birth and death years corresponding to Gojong's reign. On the other hand, he symbolizes individualism, resembling a modern person.
