This had the potential to be one of my favorite drama of all time.

Lets get the complaints out of the way since I’m sure everyone has already said the same thing. THE SECOND LEADS ARE ANNOYING. I love their characters overall of course but not once did i care or look forward to seeing their romance. hell, i was looking forward to seeing Gou Fei on screen than seeing them. That’s how much I hated watching them. The entire thing with him faking needing a wheelchair so he hires her to take care of him so he can be close to her is some messed up power dynamics bs then him revealing that he actually is a leg amputee is just ugh. at that point i DID NOT care. please just get them out of my screen. It’s also the way that they take up HALF of each episodes aside from the last few. WHY ARE THEY TAKING TIME FROM THE MAIN LEADS??? There are literally so many important scenes like the drunk kiss scene that gets cut out to give time to the second leads which. why. why did you do that. the guy is so unremarkable i don’t even remember his character name dhmu.

Other than that this would have been a 10/10, the soundtrack was gorgeous, the main leads chemistry was off the charts, Yu Meiran’s backstory was amazing. The way she pursued Zhuang Yu in the beginning and the way he had to pursue her back after leaving her was so interesting to watch, I also loved the way she bonded with his brother and them being honest with each other about everything at the end, I find myself rewatching many scenes of this drama often. Esther Yu was once again perfect for her role and her chemistry with Binbin was also very cute to watch, I would definitely like a season two or watch them act together again. but really please i want a season two i just want to watch Dr.Yu and Professor Zhuang’s antics and academics rivalry forever they make me so happy.

please don’t come @ me for not giving this 10/10

I LOVED THIS DRAMA. i started watching this drama because of Yu Shuxin. oh my god i did not regret it at all. It was so interesting to watch the scenes where DFQC and Orchid switch bodies. It was very cute to watch Didi copying Xinxin’s behaviors BUT SEEING XINXIN ACTING COLD AND CALCULATING??? OH MY GOD IM IN LOVE. The sound track is also very gorgeous 10/10 i find myself relistening to it quite often. i usually don’t do cp but Didi and Xinxin’s off screen chemistry is so cute. Though my only complaint is that it got boring towards the end when Orchid got resurrected as Xiyun, the ending where they completely skipped Orchid’s journey to resurrect DFQC by using the bone orchid also felt really rushed, they should have shown something similar to when DFQC spent years taking care of Orchid before she can return to a human body again…other than that i loved every part of the plot especially DFQC’s dream of being married with Orchid for 500 years AND the subplot which Lady Chidi and Ronghao was also really entertaining. My favorite arc was when they went to the human world together and DFQC even befriend Changheng as his first friend. Sadly I don’t think I could rewatch it again as it wouldn’t feel as magical as the first time I’ve watched it but I will look forward to the day that Didi and Xinxin works together again on a drama!

great drama. will rewatch again ?

I picked up this drama entirely because of Yu Shuxin. I did not regret it at all.
However I was not as invested in He Fanxing’s relationship as the side plots…at some point I was hoping she ended up with nobody, but it’s okay I don’t hate the ending or the execution of it, I’m just glad she’s happy. The character developments were wonderful to see especially Cai Minmin’s and He Canyang’s. (somehow this drama made teacher x student relationship ENJOYABLE for me even though most of the time it would gross me out) He Canyang went from the most immature person in his family who fools around with girls, but he grows to actually love Cai Minmin and become more mature overtime, while Cai Minmin learned the healthy way to love someone and became more mature and independent from her family by the ending. I also really liked the cheating husband and unwanted pregnancy sub plot that He Fanxing’s friends have, would definitely rewatch over and over again.
