the characters and base background is the only thing they carried from original material..it has nothing to do with the novel except that..so I would not affirm it as adaptation, the script is pretty original

couldn't stop my tears at the end..even tho Empress Dowager had done bad things..her monologue at the end was heartbreaking...pleasantly surprised seeing a villain recognising their mistakes in cdramas..where majority are written as 2d characters that do things mindlessly

I think Moli sits way higher than POJ..because pacing and screenplay are better here including distribution of scenes to characters which POJ kinda had hit or miss

it looks like her memory resets whenever it falls into turmoil .. it is largely seen in PTSD/DID patients where their mind blocks every possible turmoils he/she faces and sometimes even replaces those black areas with new made up memories

it is still early because D+ has never taken cdrama rights for international market

we may hope for Netflix tho cos last times when popular dramas aired Netflix acquired them.. eg. POB was one of them.. let's hope they get an early liecense this time
