To everyone planning to start this drama, please throw away every fictional mafia male trope you have in mind, cause this one’s different. You might end up loving it or hating it. I suggest checking the genre first before setting high expectations for this drama.
I'm going to be brutally honest, and for the ones that have issues with comments that don't align with yours?…
I appreciate your opinion, but I just wanted to say that sometimes dramas need more than 1-2 episodes to fully show their tone and character arcs (hopefully this one) I do think LDW is bringing a lot of emotional nuance to this role, and I personally like seeing a different side of both actors. It’s okay if it’s not your thing, but I hope more viewers give it a chance to develop. ❤️
We’re only on episode 2, but I already feel like some people came in with the wrong expectations. This drama clearly leans into noir romance and emotional healing, not high-action or dramatic tropes like mafia rescues or rich-man-saves-poor-girl plots.
It’s slow, quiet, and emotionally layered and that’s the point. Not every romance needs CGI or chaos to be compelling. If you’re patient with the pacing, I think the emotional payoff will hit hard.Let’s just give this drama a chance. It’s not for everyone, and that’s okay, some people will truly appreciate it.
