On this auspicious day, we gather here to witness the start of filming for "A Thought of Jiangnan," and to create our own Jiangnan amidst this beautiful landscape.
"A Thought of Jiangnan" is Lemon Pictures' 34th work in its eleven-year history, its 9th period drama, and the second installment in Lemon Pictures' flagship original period drama series, "A Thought." Within Lemon Pictures' portfolio, the "A Thought" series stands out for its realistic period drama style, traditional Eastern aesthetics, and contemporary value expression. I interpret Zhang Wei's "A Thought" as the belief one holds when facing crucial choices in life. If "A Thought of Guanshan" is about striving, about a group of people believing in their ideals and choosing to become heroes, then "A Thought of Jiangnan" is about returning home, about people who, after experiencing loss, separation, and changes in fate, believe in the future and choose to rebuild themselves.
Looking back at the origins of the creation, it stems from Zhang Wei's observation of the post-pandemic society. When self-healing and self-discovery become collective emotions, the theme of rebuilding and healing in Jiangnan takes root. From 2023 to early 2025, the script was polished for two years. In the spring of 2025, we hit it off with directors Hong Ling and Shu Heng and were ready to go. Then, facing the storms of the summer, during the most difficult time, we listened to our inner voice and made a firm choice. After nearly a year of preparation and reflection, we have finally reached today's start of filming. It is very moving that the journey of "A Thought of Jiangnan" itself is a "reconstruction".
Looking back on the hardships we faced, we see the deep appreciation and dedication each and every member of our team has shown to this project. Thank you to Zhang Wei, who couldn't be here today; thank you to the director and all the main creators; thank you to Mai Mai and An Yu for their unwavering support (seeing you both makes me appreciate the passage of time; we've been working together for 11 and 7 years respectively); and thank you to all the other actors who came together out of passion, regardless of the size of their roles! Special thanks to Mr. Shuai and Yi Qing for leading everyone through this difficult rebuilding process. And heartfelt thanks to iQiyi for their trust in our innovative work and for their unwavering support throughout these challenging times!

I read the producer speech and wow its a script that have been in work for 2 year its a healing journey after the devastation of the war from the previous drama. The new 6 characters are traumatized wandering souls , who go on a healing journey and each of them have a hidden agenda. I am intrigued plus maimai will use martial art and swordmanship so i am excited.
Ugh! The rest of the cast is stellar wang jiaja from drifting away! Lin muran from pursuit and jade, guo from growing pain, and meng ziyi ex husband from the current drama dont know his name but he is talented too. Please director dont disappoint i am traumatized bcz of a certain currently airing drama. Better lower the expectarions i guess

I heard it is because the ml real voice are not up to standard mandarin plus its ancient style which is more difficult so instead of cnets viewers mocking them for accents they hire dubbing .

Me too! Historical idol drama hit different when it is acted by talented actors and this cast have plenty! We will feast, the only think that i am wary about is the director now.
