I'm very confused by people saying this has a happy ending. Am I missing something? I just finished watching it…
There was something wrong with the timeline, it should've been Khun Yai-Commander Yai-Yai Kanthorn, however the series showed us the conclusion (final ending). The credits was there just in case they'll make S2.
But yes, Khun Yai's ending is a sad ending.
The 2023 Yai should show up last. He has all the memories of Khun Yai & Commander Yai. He might be a reincarnation but he has the same heart & soul which makes it a happy ending.

I haven’t finished the show yet but some of you are saying it’s a happy ending and some sayings it’s not……
The novel have 3 endings but the series only have two (unless we get S2), however the conclusion is it's a happy ending 😆

im lost. how did it work that yai was waiting that whole time? did i miss something? or will we find out in season…
We should find out in S2. But the context is he was reincarnated and had memories of Khun Yai and Commander Yai which was why he recognized Jom immediately in the first meet.

I have a question, for anyone who has read the book. how close is the source material is this, does anyone know.…
There are few changes. In the novel:
• Mr. Robert & the Palathip household are separated but were merged in the series.
• Khun Yai's sister is supposed to be different and not Uaengphueng
• Khun Yai & Jom's gradual development started immediately but in the novel, it took almost half of Book 1 before Jom became Khun Yai's majordomo.
• Jom was able to bring his phone in the past but in the series he brought the bracelet he have with Ohm.
• There was an important pig race where Khun Yai dropped his watch for Jom to pick up (KY did it to be close to Jom) but in the series the watch became a token of their love.
• Khun Yai never dreamt of Jom before they met but in the series, he did.
• Commander Yai didn't come to save Jom underwater however, it was indicated that Commander Yai's spirit was always there to protect him but in the series, his physical being was added where Jom saw him.
• Jom didn't know he was going to disappear so when it happened, Khun Yai & Jom didn't have their last goodbye but in the series, they were aware of it.
• No one knew about Jom & Khun Yai's relationship so there was no drama between Khun Phra & Jom, no one was able to figure out who Khun Yai was waiting for until his death but in the series there were quite a few.
• Khun Yai & Jom dated almost by the end of Part 1 so their relationship was actually short.
• There was no arson.
• Khun Yai has already planned to leave within 3 months during the time Jom was already his majordomo, there was no drama between Khun Yai & his dad about studying abroad.

I might've missed a few more but that's so far what I could remember.

That was possibly maybe season 2
We are supposed to get these answers on Book 2. We have to go through Commander Yai's era first in order for everything to be explained. But since we don't know if S2 will happen, readers like me can always help you from your questions or you may wanna read the novel.

He was reincarnated for the third time and found Jom again. He have Commander Yai and Khun Yai's memory this time. The guy on the post credit is the first life.

I want to watch it but...I found they had no chemistry in pilot and from what I saw here, the ending (waiting,…
Give the series a chance, the chemistry will definitely just follow. It's good and everything may not make sense right now but once you start watching you'd understand how the waiting, death & reincarnation would make sense. Don't worry, he is the same person in every lifetime.

There are quite a few that has issues with the pacing and I think that's fine to express, we all have different…
True. Like I said in the first comment our views can definitely be different in the matter of pacing. It depends on how a person would feel about it.

I wonder if you watch a lot of romance historical drama but as an avid fan of historical shows, the melodrama & the dramatic slowness of movement, eyes and touch somehow feels just right. If this is action drama, I'd probably have a different opinion with the pacing since I base it on the genre 😂 but your standard is obviously different and maybe you just haven't found the right historical romance drama for you, unless you can share your favorite.
