Very Similar to the classic Enteral Love

I’ll write a full review once I’m completely finished watch but here’s my take so far.

Storyline is very similar to Enteral Love.

Yuangi is true god. As he was growing up, he was foolish, impulsive and arrogant. He was also tricked by Hong Rou to destroy the phoenix’s birth because she was jealous of how beautiful the phoenix will be. Because of this, he cause the phoenix essences to shattered. He and A Yin hated each other when they first met but in time as they go through struggles together, her realized that he loves her. He does a lot of thing for her without her knowing (sounds familiar) and keeps it to himself because he feels that’s how he can protect her. However, he was forced to kill her because the immortal (who don’t act good at all). He feels she not dead because she imprinted on her and waits for 1000 years for her until the last of her essence die. He tries to make it up to her after her rebirth. He’s also dying because of a sacrifice he did for her which she doesn’t fine out until last 3 episodes. You’re going to sympathize with him towards later episodes when things starts to reveal all the sacrifices he does for A Yin.

A Yin finally gets rebirth and becomes Phoenix Queen. She remembers what happened to her and resents Yuan Gi for what he did but she still loves him. She hides her identity as A Yin from him and tries to keep her distance from him because she can’t forget what happened. He’s can’t understand why she hates him so much so he secretly follows her to find out if she’s A Yin. He felt her actions are very similar to A Yin. He confronted her and she denies it. She tries her best to denies she still loves him. She later finds out all the sacrifices he made and regrets treating him bad. Deep down she always loved him but was so hurt by all the misunderstandings.

Hong Ruo (peacock princess) wants power so used Yuan Gi to gain it. She also likes the Heavenly Emperor but uses Yuangi through lies and manipulations. She’s jealous of A Yin and does everything in her power to create misunderstanding between ML an FL. Causing Yuan Gi to kill AYin. There are times here you will hate ML. She does redeem herself in the end.

Love all the characters. Very good acting all around. I do like all the redemption from several characters and I wished the ending wasn’t rushed but it’s typical Xianxia series.

Acting: Zhao Lu Si is such a great actress. She bring chemistry with all ML she acts with. Wang An Yu at times is okay but at times is great. The SML and SFL was cute together. I enjoyed all the great acting and cast.

Overall: I enjoyed it because it reminded me of classic Eternal Love that got me into watching CDrama but has its own take and feel. I would recommend it and rewatch.

Learning life lesson - Remorse, love and growing up

Wow, I’m glad I decided to hang on and continue watching. Great acting by FL and ML. I got annoyed at first with how immature the FL was but then remembered she’s 16 yrs and learning lesson in life. Watching her grow up, learn true meaning of remorse and love.

Here’s my take of this series.

He Juiling (Ireine Song) is a spoiled 16 yrs old teenager who love to bully people because she can. She’s force to marry Rong Yu but thinks he’s weak because he’s fortunate teller that doesn’t know martial art. She thought she’s in love with her senior brother because the grew up together studying under same master. Actress that portrayed FL did a great job. I hate watching immature characters but Ireine did a great job portraying a spoiled 16 yrs old and shows how she grew up through life’s event that happens to her.

Rong Yu (Wang You Shuo) is a famous fortunate teller that can predict outcomes so accurately. He kind, gentle and always thinks of He Juiling wellbeing as priority. Knowing she put medicine that will wipe his memory of her in his drink, he still drinks it because it’s what she wanted. When he losses his memory and became handicap, he only remembers her. Great acting on Wang You Shuo, I was impressed.

Lessons: He Juiling regretted giving Rong Yu the medicine that made him loose his memory and became handicapped. She then did everything in her power to help him. She started growing up and taking in responsibility to try to right her wrong. Little did she know she started having feeling for Rong Yu. She realized how much her family protected her for seeing true evil that existed and how immature she was. They got separated but reunited in a way you didn’t expect. Marrying each other to keep her alive. Helping Rong Yu to get better and maturing.

Love: Rong Yu loved her from the beginning but because He Juiling was young and immature, she didn’t really know what true love was. Their relationship developed from her forced into marrying him to save her life while he was still mentally handicapped. She grows to appreciate and love him for she realizes true love is about sacrifices and being there for each other no matter what.

Misunderstandings: He thought she was still in love with her Senior Brother after he regained his memories and decided he would let her go so she can be happy, so he starts rejecting her love for him. He also rejected her because he found out it was his uncle who concluded with the Duke to have her family killed.

Ending: Make sure you watch the special episode as it helps ties things together at the end.

Like I said before, I almost dropped this because I thought it was going to be another FL that just going to pout and try to act cute but I’m glad I stuck with it. I would recommend this as you can connect with the characters because of good casting of FL and ML.

Definitely a worthy watch

My two favorite actor and actress together.

Definitely met my expectations.

Both FL and ML were awesome. The storyline kept me engaged and didn’t drag. I think the writers did a really good job with the character development.

As for the FL and ML, great combination. Great chemistry between them. She’s a strong and mature woman but also not over bearing. She portrayed very well by Zhao Lusi that she strong, compassionate and no nonsense lady. ML also did great and well portrayed by Yang Yang. He’s arrogant but is not afraid to be tamed by FL.

For me, it’s a semi-sad ending because they only had 10 year together.

Only finished it because of Jeremy

By far one of the worst series that Jeremy has done and he’s a favorite of mine. Very talented.

Here we go:

ML does a great job with what the writer did. I’ve always enjoy watching Jeremy as he’s a strong actor.

FL was by far the worst. Too much child-like pouting and whiny. She’s pretty but her acting needs a lot of work. Forcing herself to look cute is more like annoying. I almost wanted to drop it after 4th episode because of her. Even when she was evil or supposed to become this strong person she couldn’t do it. Sorry to bash her but it was bad.

I actually enjoyed the supporting actors/actresses more than leads because FL just ruined it for me. I understand now why all the negative comments on her. There were a lot better people out that that would have been better and are pretty as well.

Storyline line of teacher and student love could have been written better. However that concept is getting old.

Music was very good and cinematic graphics was well done. I love the costumes as well.

Overall: I won’t recommend this even though there were other good actors and actresses that tried to pull it through. FL will make you drop the series. I had recently dropped another one of her series because it was just horrible acting as well.

Good watch - semi sad ending but happy if you watch the special episode

Ending was sad but there was hope that she will see him again. But there’s a special episode that gives us the happy ending.

You don’t know truly why they are connected so much until episode 26. In their previous life, she was a fox demon that fell in love with him. He was a human (Lingzi) that was going to be sacrificed to the heaven because he was the reincarnated Spirit. She spent time getting him to fall in love with her and thought he never did. Because she loved him so much she didn’t want him to die so she sacrifices herself by flying into the mountain. He couldn’t stopped her on time but got there to catch her as she was falling. As she’s dying in this arms she told him she loved him to death. He’s broken hearted from her death and promises to be a fox in his next life and finds her and will love her to death. He took his own spirit because he loved her too and didn’t want to live anymore now she’s gone.

Plot: The story goes with Zhang Yue (Wang Youshuo) waiting for the heart soul fruit to bloom so he can get to to finish leveling up on his cultivate. However somehow Qi Yuanbao (Rain Lu) got there and the fruit went to her instead. In order for him to get it out of her, she has to fall truly in love him and kiss him so it can transfer into his body. She was infatuated with him but in reality he was the one who fell for her whole heartedly. She does eventually truly falls for him after many sacrifices he does for her. But like all c-dramas, due to misunderstandings they keep missing the opportunities to truly tell each other how they feel for one another. Eventually they do and get together.

Ending: It was sad but kind of gave you a little hope that they will meet again. Again, as he protects her from knowing the truth (she eventually finds out) that the evil spirit inside her cause her to kill almost everyone she loves. She thought it was him, so she hated him and he helped her get revenge by helping her kill him. When she found out the truth, she goes to jump off the cliff because she’s so heart broken. His spirit saves her one more time before becoming the heart soul flower growing on the tree where they first met. She goes looking for the tree and finds it. You can assume that she’s going to wait for him and she hears him calling her.

Special Episode: 30.5 or 31 depending on who post it. I’m glad I read the feed on the drama. It wasn’t on MGTv and I had to look for it. This special episode gave it a happy ending. It was cute.

Verdict: Good watch, good acting (not a lot of pouting trying to look cute), good chemistry between FL and ML as well with secondary couple, funny scene at the right time and OST was decent. I would say that I recommend this.

Cute and funny

This is a cute series. Contains great acting but storyline could be a little better.

Pros: Great acting. Strong, playful and resourceful FL. You can really connect with her and I appreciate how she’s playful, but when needed, she’s strong and resourceful. This is what good acting on FL can do to not annoy you with those childish pouting and whining. ML was great, I’ve seen him one other series and think he’s a good actor. Chemistry between them was good and the can bring out the emotion that makes you laugh and cry for them. I also enjoy the development of their relationship from hating each other to a mutual love and appreciation for one another. I actually dropped Love You Seven Times and picked up this series and I’m glad I did.

Cons: I think the storyline could have been better at some part. Other thing I didn’t like is too much makeup on several scenes where the men looks like they are wearing lipstick.

Music: Thought it was good and enjoyable.

Overall: This is a nice funny series which I’m surprised got low rating. If you are tried of the overacting of pouting to make a FL character look cute, then try this series because FL is playful and funny, but also strong and resourceful.

Boring

Storyline got boring as each episode go on. Main couple got frustrating and you loose interest. It was definitely a waste of time. The writers dragged on the I love you but I can’t too long and you loose interest. I tried watching it through but end up fas forwarding most of it. Definitely a sad ending so if you don’t like sad ending, don’t watch.

The actors and actresses were good, however, the storyline didn’t do just for them. ML and FL acting was good and the had good chemistry but at times it seemed a little forced. The little sister got annoying after a while even though I liked her at first but then the childish stuff got old and not cute anymore. Like I said, writers didn’t do their job with screen play.

Overall, I definitely can’t recommend this drama.

Another classic

If you like Eternal Love, then you will definitely love Ashes of Love.

Series seem long but it keeps you engaged and the story tell the hardship that Jinmi and Xufeng faces. Lots of ups and downs but loves conquer all. There’s crying, laughter and deep emotions.

The FL and ML have such great chemistry and you can feel the struggles they go through. FL is strong and not child-like (thank goodness), she persevered through her struggles. ML was kind, gentle and so sweet, never give up even when he tries to be cruel.

Music and cinematography was very good.

Overall, I wished they make more dramas like this and Eternal Love instead of child-like FL that act dumb trying to be cute.

Couldn’t finish it

I enjoy slow development of romance as that’s more realistic. However, not sure how people can rate this so high.

ML did great and I seen other of his series and I think he did the best he could in this series. FL was annoying with her child-like acting. The child-like pouting and voice was over the top. It got more and more annoying each episode to a point where she looks like a dump and ignorant. I just don’t understand how people can think it’s cute. Some part where it’s supposed to be funny and cute, instead you’re thinking is the girl really that stupid. Storyline wasn’t great but wasn’t bad. I think pushing the child-like FL lasted too long for me.

Music was good. Overall, I think it could be a better series if I didn’t get so annoyed with FL acting. Please directors, stop with the overacting of child-like characters.

Had so much potential

FL did it for me. Just horrible acting. She did better here than The journey of Chong Zi. But even then, she just got more and more annoying with each episode and everything looks force which makes you not able to connect to the character.

Ryan Ding did a great job and I tried to keep going because of him but just couldn’t. A strong actor that tries to carry this series because of weak FL, i feel bad for him.

They could have used other better actress that in my opinion is very pretty as well like Zhao Lusi who ready shows great chemistry with Ryan Ding in Romance of Tiger and Rose.

Music, costumes and cinematography were great, however FL just didn’t cut it.

Those who want to watch a cute FL that can’t act, go for it but not for me.
