So… a boycott in 2025 over something said in 2015 Because everyone remembers exactly what they said or believed…
I'm pretty sure there was a year where every 2 weeks some western celebrity was apologising for a homophobic or whatever remark made a decade or even decades ago. I guess it died down in the west so feels new. But yeah I agree in principle.

oh right, so Masaji Kitano & Co of Unit 731 had no choice but conduct vivisection on people from baby to old…
does america feel guilty about middle east? i'm kind of getting a completely opposite impression.

it doesn't matter that he didn't do that. if some german said "I respect my grandfather, we are here today thanks to them" and it turns out his grandfather was working in some concentration camp my eyebrows would be on the back of my head. my impression would be "he didn't do that because he didn't get an opportunity" as they say "if it quacks like a duck..."

that said, some countries in europe, us & canada can publicly commemorate their nazi ancestors.

but they shouldn't be surprised if their take on the situation will be met with scorn in other countries.

btw, i assumed you're from europe if you are from asia i could've used different examples.

oh, so turns out you are an apologist after all.

in any case in germany there's law, where in the privacy of your own home you can worship your grandpa for whatever.

if you get his paraphernalia and go out in the streets and will start saying that he was a good nazi not like the other nazis that's against the law and some people will be annoyed with you regardless. while in japan even a mass murderer will be giving lectures to school kids.

so how japan deals with that burden of guilt gives a very wrong different vibe to a lot of people.

mainly because they don't feel it's a burden.

My problem with stuff like this is, while yes Koreans were victims of the war....so were the Japanese. People…
oh right, so Masaji Kitano & Co of Unit 731 had no choice but conduct vivisection on people from baby to old people. i'm not being a nazi apologist but from what i read compared to those lads Dr Mengele look like a philanthropist.
In any case just like ss & gestapo in germany kamikaze squadrons were considered elites. So only idealists needed to apply. definitely no rich person forced them to go there.

anyway unlike the nazis, they were not tried for war crimes because US protected them in exchange for the research they made. would be interesting to see how much of this research helped out big pharma companies.

i'm amazed that they are still oblivious to that aspect. i wonder if they'd be more cautious if they were casting…
well i understand their reactions and at this stage netflix people should know about history and any sensitive issues so they should do more to vet the cast. but it's possible that they didn't know enough about the FS, they knew it and didn't it think it was a big deal. or they knew that it will be controversial but considered it insignificant to affect profit.

Very good. My favourites are Sun Jiadong & Huang Xuhua. Like the lads were starting from serious handicapped positions. So it was very interesting to see how process and procedures evolved. Shen Jilan was alright. Ecranisation of war stories was alright but i prefer more direct documentaries with narratives etc.
In any case, I well enjoyed it.

Enjoying it so far. Obviously not every story is going to be great, but it's really nice to see projects like that.

yeah well official poster on tencent is now that atrocity as well. i wonder the hell thought it's a good idea. like it's really appropriate for like 2 episodes max. the rest of the show has completely different vibe. ah well we have what we have.

ah no. the person who uploaded it doesn't have to be the person who changed it. although in this instance it probably was that person who didn't even saw the show and just copied it from imdb.

but in fairness that poster is now on tencent as well. ridiculous.

Title The Legend of Shen Li Spoiler
Some unanswered questions I had - massive spoilers.
My take on your questions, until someone better comes along.

1) Main villain who we know and love is Fu Sheng.
Once Mofang & Fu Sheng died and phoenix boy was realeased the only reason to stick around would be just to hurl abuse at the others.
In any case Liu Ming did very little work so there are no points to defeat him. therefore he just disappeared with the abyss.
Although, I can't remember now if disappearance was made explicit in the novel - I dont think so.

2) When he just woke up there was no point to talk to him since he was controlled by Liu Ming and crazy. Not sure it would work out or look good.

At the later stage when they both knew their relationship it was for dramatic effect. Some people liked it others didn't. Yeah I thought it was perfect/

3) Furong was very much into Mofang. He knew that mofo betrayed them but at the same time he knew that mofo helped out Shen Li. So, the situation was not that clear to him.

4) FL was locked up in divine heaven for her safety and had to figure out/discover some stuff independently. Stones had to be collected to prevent them falling into wrong hands and to appease everyone else.

>>> Lack of comunnication caused many problems in last episodes ...
I dont recall any.

5)Well, they already did that in the cave scene (e30/31)
I got to add they didn't look too awkward afterwards either - shameless.

6) They were eaten.

7) You didn't have to really. i liked that they addressed mundane aspects of long term relationship. It was a great opportunity in any case.
