she never asked directly but she gaslighted and manipulated them to do stuff for her, even though the male lead knew what kind person she was.. but still, his guilt was shaped since childhood made him being conflicted of helping her or stopping her when he found what she did was wrong then they were adult.. and remember that her younger self deliberately hurt herself to let his mom tortured her in the bathroom, so the younger male lead would see with his own eyes that his mom was evil to her.. she shaped the identity of the male lead into who he was growing up, that his world was all about her... as for the 2nd male lead, she knew that his childhood was liked hers, beaten by the abusive father, so she used that background to make him to take her side whenever she needed him.. she'd act weak in front of him..

Jaeoh since highschool.. he found a purpose to live through ahjin coz his family abandoned him and ahjin made him felt useful..
and there are plenty of scenes where ahjin manipulated and gaslighted both boys.. so i dont know why you missed that..

baek ah jin is a sociopath coz her poor environment created her that way since young.. she had bit of emotions at some point but always tried to ignore it.. coz her priority was always herself more than anything else.. she did care to certain extend and just by her own terms..

if you're talking about the ML when he was Junoh, the top star, yea the ex gf cheated with the rival.. and both of the ex gf and the rival actor are not good characters though.. they're not really important of characters instead of just a small nuisances in the storyline.

me too, i was also initially skeptic about their pairing coz i actually not really fond of nuna-dongsaeng pairing.. but i gave it a try and they really proved me wrong, they perfectly well matched for their respective characters. and their relationship is very mature and no unnecessary misunderstanding fights. Jiwook maybe younger but he's very mature when dealing with Haeyoung who's older and quite headstrong of person.

well at least we got to see their proposal (which i also wanted for the main couple, i mean the real proposal) and also a spin off with 2 eps about their story.. i don't know if you have checked it out or not..

but anyway, this is not a revenge drama though, it's a psychological drama about human complexity, what caused these main characters broken inside.. what made them did what they did throughout the story... they were all entangled into one messy web that they couldn't get themselves out coz it was not easy.... coz each of them had their own desires and hopes they wanted to fulfil from each other..they were all lacked of love from their environment... the message of this story is telling people to be kind to one another before ppl create a monster... just like what Yoojung said in her dear x interviews..
