had potiential but didn't hit for me
Everyone says the same thing about how great this is, and only one thing that I can agree on is that the cinematography is great and the actors did their thing with the script they were given. I personally found the story confusing at best and poor/lacking at worst. It was around like 4/5 where I was like wait do these characters know they're gay? Like the whole show is about subtly and realism but for the couple I just don't find it realistic to be romantic with one another and like be portrayed as like acquaintances?? I'm not sure, it felt gaslighty to the audience and didn't add any intimacy to the main couple. Like yk the flirty looks and stuff work and the intimate touches work in the beginning but if there's something there and theirs like weird cuts idk. I wish they delved into jae wons brother/depression also there's like a lot that can cause depth to the show, but it felt underwhelming which was disappointing. The therapist could have gotten some great lines but her character was a flop so was that ex gf. Some shit is stupid as wellI know it's like one of those creative projects that is like greatly praised for it's story and cine, so I kinda hate y'all for this. If the purpose was to be pretty it did that but don't expect to much like I did

brilliant binged in 2.5 days, lesbians. gl coded. i live!!!!!
captivating story, super addictive.I'm sure everyone can say that the acting is brilliant, I was terrified of the antagonist i was oooooo babes pls ur terrifying me now 😭😭 female lead and I thought while the plot was a bit cheesy I thought it was very entertaining. It had social commentary and themes of female friendship, bullying, guilt, and responsibility. I loved the main character, very refreshing perspective and grounded. Female characters often seem to have one definite characteristic and lack depth sometimes. They're were many characters and main ones, but it felt like each had their chance to shine, every character is distinct. The dynamics were adorable and realistic. Literally a canon lesbian relationship here, it's not subtle but at the same time it is in a way. It felt like I got to see natural female relationships form, and develop, struggle in amist of chaos. The writers understood how teenage girls act and showed it well with the girls' dynamic. While it had dark themes, it was cutely wholesome and thillerish at the same time. OVERALL WOULD RECC!!!
It ended crazy a bit annoyingly but that might mean a second season, thank you lesbians!!

Elite Contender For Best Bl Ever
One of the best shows/bls I ever watched. I remember the hype it got last year but never watched it (I was out of bl) but I seriously missed out on such a gem of a show. Wei truly defies expectations, he is is such a fascinating and dynamic main character for us to follow. I thought the first episode of it was very comical, and even the premise of the show is a trope within itself, yet this show just defies the sort of stale expectation. I really loved the dark introduction to Chi Cheng/ Cheng yu. It gave me that the show was gonna be dark with toxic mafia-esque tops which I LOVE mind you but I liked the layers that were pulled out of them.Starting off with a fighting snake ring and overall understanding that Cheng is enamored by snakes and also adores them as they are his children. All of that leading with his trauma of his ex pressure from family, absolute fucking cinema. I feel like everything in this show, while the budget wasn't the best, obviously, it's like, I'm sorry, some shows can't even write this much plot twists, yet depth into their characters and growth within their characters in five or six episodes. I mean, we saw him literally kill the snake for Wei. Don't get me started on Wei and Shuai's dynamic. I love them so much. I think it just, with Shuai, he is such a light in this dark world, and it's so easy to fall in love with him, and it makes so much sense that Cheng Yu is in love with him and shines in his scenes with him and even Cheng Chi (I loved their bromance it was so funny and real). Both Cheng Yu and Shuai chemistry was so good! A good balance to Wei and Cheng Chi's. Shuai is so inviting and I was praying for even more screen time with him, with all he has experienced he is still so giving, to wei, to his community, to strangers. I have so many praises to sing about this show and how it understands its characters.
I loved the bringing back the toxic ex. He was MY messy gay. I loved what he stirred in the characters, the drama, the diva of it all. I even loved how careful the characters took care of mental health and illness, even when I wish and somewhat the dramaticness in me wanted them to stoop low (Shuai grounded Wei so much I loved their dynamic lol). So many characters just exceeded expectations, which really made them feel more human and grounded to the story. I enjoyed the pacing of this show so much as well. I think that towards the end (not way end but maybe), with the major conflict, I do think things got wrapped up a little bit quickly with a major plot point. But other than that, I'd say the pacing was amazing and it felt like we could feel the weight of the decisions and the emotions of the characters. In general I just need more time with the story cause IM GREEDYYY and need more EPISODESSS. Still, the dialogue and the couples sold me everything I needed: tears, butterflies, sexual tension, guilt, shock, everything I needddddd! The actors did their absolute fucking big one in this show. I truly think with such a variety of characters and different perspectives, they honored all of them so well and their dynamics paid off so well when the boys got together as couples. Long live Cheng Chi X Wei Wei you guys are so hot!!! And long live Cheng Yu and Shuai Shuai the best second leading couple ever. Shout out to my fav bestie bottom twins Wei Wei and Shuai Shuai I hope yall do something fruity behind your tops back for the fun of it and get a spanking 😜😜

The first thai bl in years I have been invested in
Yinwar is single-handedly the industry we all cheered😞 If you're like me and read reviews for highly praised thai bls or start bls that are promoted all over your fyp and drop pretty much all of them cause the plot doesn't engage you or the acting/writing is just too far gone from your standards of the amount of cringe or disrespect you'll allow as viewer, YOU AIN'T GOTTA WORRY NO MORE. Know I say this without previously being a fan of Yinwar or knowing their past projects but they deliver in every scene. The plot is brilliantly entertaining and carefully thought out arcs like the first three episodes is one arc, it's so simple but at the end of the day I need good writing along with representation. I am completely in love with War, his character is so charismatic and his eyes are so expressive.I love that in an angsty bottom. Yin completely sells me on Jack and his motives and morals, it's amazing to see moments where his persona breaks. Since I discovered thai bls a couple of years ago I watched a handful of good ones and have been disappointed time and time again I took a break and Jack and Joker pulled me back in. All I can wish for is that you give this show a chance like I did cause I can guarantee you'll stick around. My only regret is watching this show when three episodes so I have to keep coming back every week lol. I fear I must watch their other bls to sustain myself. I am so excited for what comes next.JUST FINISHED 2 years later and it is still peak
The best bl of that year, took me so long to complete cause I got sick of the horrible quality of thai bls and procrastination but this made me remember why thai bls are their own genre. Such a good story, good tension and angst. Wonderful wonderful cast of characters that enrich the dynamics and energy of the show. First yinwar show i watched, War is such a talent I'm a big fan. Not sure if I'll be tuning in to other thai bls now but this show seriously ignited that spark! Shed tears, laughed, enaged well, a diamond!!

so thai bl acting has this thing yk where it's not good so this doesn't deviate. I got into bl almost 2 years now? and i think its really the only tv genre where people exuse i'm not sure for what. I watch ep 1 which wasn't bad this is defiently a mystry which I was intriguied about, I started ep 2 and understanding the dire of a sitution these boys were in I can't possibly exucse their acting if I love tv dramas as much as I do. Yes most bls have iffy acting sometimes it's noticable when cringy but you move on cause it doesn't hurt the plot. This was the opposite, I wanted to continue to see barcode cause I believe everyone when they say he steals the show but a show cannot be good with one good actor. I don't speak thai but i can't help but feel like i am being pissed on when people praise the show will i see shit on my screen. Also i felt they were dragging things and it's more admirable if a write can stretch a mystery but you don't have to be boredWas this review helpful to you?
