This drama never once failed me. Not a single weak episode. Every week it arrived quietly, like a hand resting on your shoulder after a long day, and then somehow shattered you in the gentlest way possible.
What made this finale so special is that it felt like returning to the beginning, but not in a “nothing changed” kind of way. It felt like: we’re still messy, still scared, still trying… but now we know how to hold each other through it. The path was never linear, and this show never pretended it was.
And Dong-man’s love for Eun-a… God. It was never possessive, never selfish, never the kind of love that asks someone to become smaller just to feel safe. He loved her like someone opening a window instead of building a cage. He wanted the world to be big enough for all the versions of her, even the difficult ones, even the hurting ones. That kind of love is so rare to watch on screen that sometimes I just sat there staring at the subtitles like ????? who allowed this level of emotional damage 😭 The way they kept finding each other again and again, even when life made them feel impossible to love.
For six weeks, we laughed with them, cried with them, hurt with them, and quietly rooted for them while pretending we were emotionally stable people watching “just one episode before sleeping.” Lies. Absolute lies.
Go Youn Jung and Koo Kyo Hwan gave such painfully honest performances as Byeon Eun A and Hwang Dong Man that they stopped feeling like characters halfway through the show.
And the side characters??? Not a single wasted soul in this story. Hwang Jin Man, Ko Hye Jin, Park Kyung Se, Jang Mi Ran… every character carried their own loneliness so quietly that when their walls finally cracked open, it hit like a truck wrapped in soft piano music.
What I’ll remember most is how this drama treated brokenness with tenderness. It never rushed healing. It is understood that some people are exhausted not because they are weak, but because they have been surviving themselves for too long.
We Are All Trying Here reminded us that even people who feel insignificant, left behind, difficult to understand, or unbearably tired are still worthy of love and connection. Maybe that’s why saying goodbye feels strangely personal.
Thank you, Mojamussa, for being our green light every weekend 🌱
The story ended, but the warmth it gave us will stay for a very, very long time.
And the hyejin/gyeongse bits are uncomfortable to watch - and it's a compliment. Dumbass and childish director comes running to an afterparty when his purty cowriter texts him but brushes off his duly wedded wife who's also at the same party. hyejin's seething colors much of her previous appearances and i half expected her to go full khornate at gyeongse but she exploded in a different manner by pretending not to know him. gyeongse was seeing the hyejin he once knew in jeongmin, but hyejin had to be the responsible one, turning into the jaded survivalist to keep themselves from going under. gyeongse is fully in the wrong here, dude is old enough to do some self-reflection that he clearly lacks ever since we first saw him. these two won't be ending without a permanent change to the status quo
Ma Jae-Young is a despicable and vile character. There’s nothing good about him. Absolutely nothing. Insecure, conceited and arrogant. Like how can one accumulate all these personality defects? And that egg donor and surrogate who calls herself “mother” is the worst of worst. How can you be so full of yourself that you can’t genuinely acknowledge the hurt you’ve inflicted on a child? A child who looked up and relied on you at that! She keeps minimizing Eun-a’s hurt, and it’s so annoying to see that play out, considering we’re reaching the end of the show; but that’s the charm of “We Are All Trying Here”. It’s a realistic portrayal of society, so I’ll just roll with it.
"I'm Yeongsil, the writer Ma Jaeyoung is so desperate to hide."
GIRL DID NOT DROP A BOMB. SHE DROPPED AN ENTIRE MISSILE and somehow we all know that’s only ONE of the many secrets she’s still holding.
Also LMAOOO another victim added to the ever-growing list of people personally affected by Hwang Dong-man simply being Hwang Dong-man and ranting nonstop The fact that he finally cast actor Noh Gangsik had me weirdly emotional because his chaotic little dream is slowly becoming real.
I genuinely cannot wait for the final episodes but also… I DON’T WANT TO SAY GOODBYE 😭 12 episodes feels criminal to me. This should’ve been 16 minimum because I am not emotionally done living inside this world yet and I’m not ready to let these people go yet.
all i wanna say about thr cardigan dillema ..context matter ... people are mad at the scene in twitter when they…
Some Netizens complain without watching drama are usually annoying as f, by the way, they are just never know and never want to know any explanation, just better ignore them
Ep 9 showcased once again how evil Eun-a’s mother is. She was smirking at the idea of her daughter writing the script that could give her her next breakthrough; rejoicing even more at the idea of her being anonymous. This however will definitely turn against her, because Eun-A will definitely not let her have her way, which might lead her to reveal that she’s the writer. This will definitely turn against Ma Jea-Yeong and Eun-A’s mom. Let’s wait and see.
I really wondered what they were going to do about the loan shark and I’m sooo glad that Dong Man was able to handle it without anyone being harmed and through his own wit
It’s so freaking funny how they made fun of the loan shark with his gold chains and cliche words. I thought someone would give him the money and but this is so so much better
Also a really lovely moment: Eun A telling Mi Ran that she’s starting to like her and Mi Ran’a little smile omg. (I’m choosing the ignore the whole Mi Ran harrasing her ex costar for my own mental health 🤣)
