Dear passers-by (not Chengyi fans),I've seen a lot of comments saying it's boring. Is it really? I was so hyped…
Keep it low, that will be easier on you for almost all drama. First couple of ep, nothing out of ordinary, fighting scenes are not that amazing, but it gets a bit better later on, it'so so, watchable, nothing insults your intelligence. Acting is ok, maybe a character will annoy you along the way but not too much, typical plots that have been seen in other dramas before, easy to guess, just dont expect anything mind-blowing.
Is there a movement to up the rating for this drama because I feel like the numbers are not actually matching…
tbf, they are 0.1 different, very small. Also, a drama has fewer watchers can still have a higher rating than a drama with more watchers. The number of watchers and hence raters can depend on how well the drama is promoted or how popular the cast is.
I have watched both, and I rate this one much higher than LoFG, but that's my personal opinion. I know the story of LoFG beforehand; the current adaptation destroyed the story for me on many levels, and the acting is unconvincing. I felt like I needed to turn off my brain on too many occasions than I wanted to. I also had a hard time watching FL's acting, but probably that's personal interest. So could not hang on too long to see any kind of chemistry between leads which also happened a bit later in the story.
In comparison, over here, the plot has its bump, but in return, refreshing FL's character and humors, solid ML, excellent cp chemistry, to the point that none of the current romance dramas work for me anymore. I just found myself rewatching this cp.
I just wanna ask about the views. Does this mean that the drama is popular in mainland?Or it just an average views…
I saw a video on YouTube that listed most views drama in 1st quarter 2025, the tops are close 1.8-1.9 billions in the 1st half, mostly 40 ep, so 40-50millions views per ep. I have seen series where producers apologized for playback views under 10 mil per ep So I would say, wdbtd is about average for now. Will also need to see how other series in the same period doing plus how it is doing till the end of the year.
So, he does remember everything at the end, right? That playful "Do I know you?" felt more like teasing…
I ready some theories (which I think make sense). They said that he managed to come to the modern world (different worlds, as FL mentioned when she died in the mortal realm) at earlier time than she started transmigrating. Then he started to set all sort of stuffs that we can see in the 1st ep (resort investment companies - cause she said she wanted to relax/do a retreat before, the company name is the three mountain where they first met, the proposal for the project is the sect she is from and that why she was staring at it when she was on the stairs in the last ep). He was searching for her, his flight is supposed to be at 6.30 and he met with alot of people from different companies with different proposals on that day, and she was the last. He missed the flight (probably for this last presentation chance), had a coffee, heard her voice about the drink, and went down, the company has a snake on the screen in the background and also the blossom tree in the back.
In an alternative end (by the scriptwriter), they will have some conversation about the projects and their names, cried and snow will be falling.
I read a comment here that in the book, they live happily in the mortal arc, never coming back to modern world
agree, good chemistry resonates so much with the audience. I can even forgive the drama for all of its flaws and…
Haha I was trying to reply to both you and Jaden at the same time, but mdl does not let me to. I cant guess a couple very correctly, but I can guess who is in a relationship. There are many indications for it, but one of the strong one, I think, is their willingness to do kisses scenes and how it changes compared to before. XD

@Jaden1019 @CdramaAddict I think one of the strong indicators is their willingness to kiss, or how their willingness change , like they are normally fine with kisses, then suddenly for a period, no kisses in idol dramas/romance drama , or when they normally dont do kisses but then suddenly they start to do it or suddenly more "adventurous" than before. Like Ren Jia Lun for a long time, he does very minimal kisses, then it turns out he is married. Or Chen Xiao, I think for a long time, kisses in his drama were very basic, nearly nonexistent, then a year back, or maybe more, he started to do it again and was a bit more adventurous with it, then it is announced that he will be divorced. You can also check this pattern with Yang Mi and Zhao Liying, their kiss scenes tend to change according to their relationship status.
This drama once again proves that a lead couple with plenty of kisses, intimacy, and genuine chemistry will always…
agree, good chemistry resonates so much with the audience. I can even forgive the drama for all of its flaws and bumpy plot. It does not have to be kisses all the time, but kisses are always welcome 😂. Kiss-wise, I think it not only depends on the director but also on the actors/actress. Some of them have no problem, while some dont want to do it. After watching cdrama for a long time, i can now guess who is dating, just based on their intimacy and kissing scenes in a drama lol.
Struggling here too, roaming around for recommendations also. I started shadow love and moonlit, but dropped both. wdbd ruined it for me, nothing beats their chemistry rn.
I plan to check out yummy yummy yummy (wyl + li yun rui, another romcom time travel wuxia + food) which will be aired in sep I think. Later on: will check out love beyond the grave (athur chen +Dilraba + famous director, crazy kiss in bts clip), probably will check out Cheng Yi's new drama (although I am disappointed by that fox franchise so far). Coming up in youku is love in the cloud (neo hou + lu yu xiao). I like neo hou (he normally gets this quirky character, badass but has some humor), but not sure about FL.
