Short, and sweet

A breath of fresh air amidst suffocating dramas that are either about vengeance, power struggle, and the likes.
The story is of typical plot, but what makes it an "easy" watch is that it only has eight (8) episodes, so the pacing is continuous.
Like a warm cup of cocoa on an autumn day, Serendipity's Embrace hugs you with the feeling of nostalgia that can only come from those sweet, sweet days with your besties, and your special friend.

a gem of a drama

WLFKBJ is indeed SWAG! Love the friendship of our weightlifting trio. BookJo was really cute! The relationship between father-daughter-uncle was nice. Cameos were unexpected, lols.
Will I rewatch this drama? Probably yes if time permits, and I am compelled to stay indoors (which is quite rare, given the hectic schedule rhat is work.)

Poignant love story amidst treacherous waters

Although not as grand as Empress Ki or as well-known as Dae Jang Geum, RWTMR turned out to be a quality sageuk drama. Setting aside the controversy, this could have been praised by numerous people and adored by the majority. It's unfortunate that the problem with actor Ji Soo affected the drama's goal of presenting a grand retelling of a well-known Korean folktale.

The actors' outstanding performances were one of the numerous highlights of the drama. Actress So Hyun demonstrated her acting skills effectively by portraying the various roles of a young queen and mother, a rogue assassin, and a resurrected princess. Lee Ji Hoon also deserves praise for his portrayal of Go Geon, as his passionate love and unwavering loyalty shine through onscreen, making you root for him to win the princess. Next we have Na In Woo. Although he appears much older than So Hyun, his performance as On Dal was still very charming. Even though you can tell he is naive, his love and commitment to assassin Ga Jin, and later Princess Pyeonggang, never wavered, even after enduring four years apart. Yoo Hwa, portraying Mo Yeong, exuded elegance while also displaying her cunning side on screen.
The fight sequences, while not flawless, were pretty decent. Simply be cautious of the considerable amount of blood that will appear on your screen. The outfits, while causing controversy among some online users, were elegant and beautiful. Musical scoring was good. Cinematography was nice.

People, don't underestimate a drama just because it faced a setback. Remaining impartial is crucial, as it ensures you'll have the opportunity to enjoy exceptional series like this!

Hope that RWTMR will finally receive the positive outcome it has been eagerly anticipating.

Overrated historical drama, that'll be forgotten once another sageuk series comes along.

This drama is overrated, in my opinion. The FL has a lifeless expression on her face and eyes looked dead. She was supposed to portray a strong queen, but I can't see the authority, fire, or power in her eyes. Though many actresses with greater talent than her are eagerly awaiting their opportunity to perform, she is fortunate to have landed the part. If I may say so, Wookie and So Hyuk were the drama's saving grace.
It's also quite funny that this became popular in part because of too much, and sometimes unnecessary, intimate scenes.
Much superior were the earlier sageuk dramas, such as Jewel in the Palace, Empress Ki, Queen Seon Deok, and Emperor of the Sea! Good story, superb leads, and no hullabaloos just to create "steam" among viewers.
Frankly, Queen Woo is a drama that's akin to a freshly cooked griddle cake ---- appetizing at first, but will be forgotten after its "heat" dissipated.

cringe

The show mainly relied on Hae In, and So Min being known actors, hence the hype. Same story line, redundant tropes. Seems like korean dramas will eventually reach past their prime, if writers will use the same cliches. Sighs. Hae In should stick to melodramas; So Min on caricature and comedic characters because she shines best in this genre.
Overall, an overrated, overhyped, redundant drama that'll be forgotten once another comes along.

Incompatible leads

We all love Wookie. Yoo Jung is a sweetheart. But these two being paired together, just isn't my cup of tea. Sorry, not sorry. They look like siblings. No chemistry, and that is quite ironic, given Wookie's superb dynamics with his FLs. Sheesh. Yoo Jung's best partner by far, was and will always be Park Bo Gum.
