Oh okay if you mean it that way, I get what you’re saying. But still let’s wait and see if they improve or change those things as the drama goes on. I honestly feel like they’re not giving their best when it comes to the modern styling, which is probably why I’m more critical of it. 😭 But I don’t think the actor lineup itself is a big problem. There’s both older guys and a younger guys so I don’t think the age difference is necessarily something the drama will focus on that much, especially since JJY herself is still young. For me, it’s more about how they style and present the characters than the casting itself
I honestly believe Ju Jingyi is going to nail this role. From everything we’ve seen so far, her performance looks really good, and I actually think the production is looking better than people are giving it credit for. And people really shouldn’t forget how competitive this role was. There were reportedly plenty of actresses interested in taking it, so clearly the role and the source material have value. JJY choosing it doesn’t automatically mean she had no better options or that she was given some terrible project. It’s a popular manhua adaptation with an established audience, and that gives the drama a strong foundation. I’d rather wait until the drama actually airs before judging the script, chemistry, pacing, and overall quality
