hey hey I just wanted to know that this is not a sad ending movie ryt or am I just misunderstood the whole ending...
found this from another site: “ I personally believe it's a happy ending because both are alive, living seemingly better lives. Are they married? I don't know. From the final scene, where Xiao is walking behind Chen from a somewhat closer distance, it could be assumed they are in each other lives.
HOWEVER, I think the creators of the film would've added something for us to assume that, like Chen turning around and looking at Xiao to indicate she knows he's following, or maybe have him smile back at her or something.
But instead, I think the last impression of the show was exactly how the creators wanted the end to be protrayed: Chen walking a girl home, being a support system, her life much better than it'd been, with Xiao following behind her, silently, and her not noticing it.
I think the ending means he's secretly protecting her or watching over her, and she doesn't know it or something, or maybe she does and just lets it be. I think she probably doesn't...”
