Review Payback
What a shame for you. I absolutely loved the series. It was one of the best I've seen.

Pornography? Oh dear... I don't think you've seen much of the real world. Sorry!

Is there really only one episode left? I can't believe it!

This drama is just too good, and there's still so much I want to see. I wish it had more time to develop everything, especially their revenge against that disgusting abusive monster, our boy finally getting the success he deserves... and, of course, at least a few more glorious intimate scenes.

Everything has been so good, and that's exactly why I WANT MORE!

I came here to say how much his family sucks
Yes, absolutely awful! I completely agree. 🤭

Having a family like Lu Xiao's is literally living in hell.

I'm so angry!

That poor, sweet, kind, and suffering boy.

If I didn't already know how the novel ends, I would have given up on this drama by now... Ugh!

Thankfully, we're getting another episode tomorrow.

This drama keeps my heart warm and gives me hope.

so he drops his pants and... nothing after that? no mention of it again? so confused. I was thinking maybe the…
Yes, you're right. The editing of that scene wasn't done very well. What happened after he pulled down his pants was left without a clear sequence, making it confusing to follow. I also thought the birthday scene might have taken place later, especially since he gives the key back to him afterward. But I'm not entirely sure.

Unfortunately, to me, this isn't a bittersweet love story—it's pure humiliation and bitterness.

Lu Xiao Fan is nothing more than a punching bag... and even worse, he shows no sign of fighting back. His level of submission is so extreme that it's becoming uncomfortable for me to keep watching this story.

What exactly is Bei Lu Qing doing? The emotional pain and humiliation he keeps inflicting on Xiao Fan are bordering on sadism. I honestly can't understand his behavior. At least the monster sister's physical abuse is straightforward and obvious.

If this story doesn't change direction—and judging by the very first scene we saw in Episode 1, I don't think it will—I know I'll end up completely disappointed with this drama.
Ugh!

This drama is an absolute delight! Incredibly sensual and utterly captivating.

The only thing I'm not enjoying is having to wait a whole week for each new episode.

It's agonizing, seriously!

But it's definitely one of the best BLs from the latest batch.

It's absolutely worth checking out.

I'm loving it!

I genuinely hope a third season does not happen because I feel like they took the aspects that made S1 work for…
I understand. I’ve been so disappointed with some BLs lately that, honestly, I don’t even know how to respond anymore.

In any case, thank you very much for your attention and for getting back to me. I’m not particularly interested in a continuation either. What we’ve already seen was more than enough. Truly grateful!

I personally sympathize a lot with your frustration. It couldn’t represent my feelings more accurately. Unfortunately, I’ve already watched it as well.

It honestly feels like they intentionally left room for a third season, but, to be completely honest, I have absolutely no expectations for that happening.

Finally, someone who thinks like me. I made a comment on someone's post that they hope he would not be put to…
Thank you for your response. I do feel somewhat out of step with the general perspective. I like Xu Kai, but here we are discussing a character, not the actor—it is important to make that distinction. It is truly an exceptional drama.

7.4?!? Seriously?
I can hardly believe it. I joined MDL because I thought it was a space for open, coherent discussion among people with refined taste.

I am genuinely shocked to see such a low rating for an excellent drama.

I haven’t finished it yet, as I only have VIP access on Web TV. I refuse to pay an additional fee just to watch the final episodes—I find that deeply disrespectful to subscribers.

Even so, up to episode 18, regardless of whatever ending may follow, the execution of this drama has been impeccable.

Truly disappointing.

So… a great drama, but as I expected, nowhere near complete with just one season.

I’ve just finished episode nine and, honestly, the only thing missing from the final credits was a “to be continued” notice.

I’m currently reading the novel—it has over a hundred chapters, and this first part of the drama doesn’t even cover the first twenty-five. In other words, there is still a lot left to unfold.

I truly enjoyed the drama and can only hope that the continuation arrives as soon as possible. In the meantime, I’ll keep immersing myself in the book, which already strikes me as very well written.

It has been a pleasure following this drama alongside all of you here on MDL.

They are rooting for the lead because despite what is clearly heinous actions the actor has shown his brilliance…
I also hope that Xu Kai is able to deliver performances as outstanding as his previous ones. I must admit that I have been enjoying the drama very much. Questioning a work from the viewer’s perspective does not mean diminishing its value; it simply reflects my belief that the character acts wrongly. Unfortunately, I cannot condone the actions of a drug trafficker. Thank you for your reply!

Are you reading an English translation of the novel? If so, can you tell me where I can find it? I’d love to…

I’ve just started reading the book. I’m really enjoying the drama, but I’m frustrated that there’s only one episode left. There are still so many things to be resolved… and, on top of that, it feels like the story is only just beginning.

I hope to find more answers in the book—and, by some miracle, that the story will get a continuation.

I’d like you to know that I follow you. I find your analyses precise and insightful. I couldn’t agree more with this one—seriously. I haven’t finished the series yet, but you’ve expressed exactly everything I feel. Thank you!

I do not think Kelvin killed Lalit, but still, the intention was to stop Lalit by any means possible and Kelvin…
Yes, I agree with you. Very sad. The raw and cold way he behaved after striking Lalit proves that he is a psychopath. I just hope the production does not try to gloss over these actions in the future simply so that they can end up together in the finale.

Yes a danmei
Please remember that the novel is very different from the drama. There are no crimes such as Lalit’s in the novel. In the book, redemption — at least up to the point I have read — is plausible. But in the drama, it is not.
