Overall, You Are My Fateful Love is a light, warm, and enjoyable romance drama. The drama does have some pacing issues, especially in the middle, where some conflicts seem to go nowhere and are filled with scenes that could have easily been cut. However, these shortcomings are still tolerable because the relationship between Ruan Yu and Xu Huaisong remains the main attraction throughout the series.

I also really like how the drama portrays a love that never truly ended, but was simply delayed for many years. They both had feelings for each other in the past, but due to various circumstances, they never got the chance to be together. When they finally meet again after ten years, they are no longer the same two teenagers they once were, but two adults who have grown with their own lives, careers, and perspectives. This is what makes their relationship feel somewhat different from typical romance stories.

The chemistry between Wei Zheming and Zheng Hehuizi also helps keep the drama engaging. Their interactions feel natural, sweet, and never overly forced. Along with the entertaining supporting characters, especially Liu Mao, the drama manages to maintain its lighthearted atmosphere even when dealing with more serious conflicts.

Although it is far from a perfect story, You Are My Fateful Love is still a romance drama that I find very enjoyable and one that I can see myself rewatching from time to time. Especially when I'm in the mood for something light, romantic, funny, and not emotionally exhausting.
Ultimately, this drama is not about two people falling in love for the first time, but about two people finally getting the chance to pursue the feelings they never had the opportunity to act on before.
