this is the first historical drama i've liked in a very long time, i'm sad 😭

I can't say i totally hated this drama but it's way too long for the plot it has; i've got very bored by ep 24 so i dropped it. I'm not giving an excessive low score because it had a great set up and okay characters (well except the sister couldn't stand her for a second). Should've been shorter.

"Gender role reversal" and proceeds to have the most traditional gender roles ever, such a disappointment

A male lead that isn't perennially constipated and actually has a personality? sign me up

there's only 10 episodes so not really, but it's a chinese drama it's a matter of time lol

you're so right, if a drama is rated 8.5+ especially if it's chinese i'm very skeptical lol

unpopular opinion but i hope the ML's personality will not do a full 180 cause i like his scheming ass lol BUT he does need to regret and redeem himself if the two end up together but i just hope he won't suddenly become a desperate simp and will win the FL affections by being normal and mature (kinda like he was in the beginning but authentic this time lol) 😅

from his perspective he thinks she's only after his wealth and connections not that she actually loves him so to him every word that comes from her mouth is a calculated lie too, we are just seeing it from the FL POV and as viewers we know it's not the case but he's not in her head

I've just finished the first episode and i really don't have any criticisms for now even though i was very skeptical to start this

the only thing is the ML haircut, it really doesn't do him justice, his face is nice despite him turning 40 soon (i was shocked 😂) but that haircut is really not it

well yes for me it's just not entertaining if characters were all sweet and cheesy, i like moral dilemmas, flawed characters and decisions and i also like what you define the "unecessarily complicated" plots, i guess it's all up to taste 😂

you can't deny that she's also causing extreme psychological stress to her son, (she's ragebaiting him every episode lol), her sacrifice was for things she had caused herself, you can't deny she's selfish and manipulative

well that's part of the plot it's written in the synopsis, if there wasn't some kind of drama what's the point of watching lol

i like it instead, i don't believe in "the one", i believe that love comes from truly getting to know a person, he might be attracted to another girl initially but love is not just about that. Got to many love at first sight tropes or the unrealistic "you're the only one for me even if i only spent 8 months with you and then didn't see you for the next 20 years" nowadays.
But knowing kdramas he probably won't like the 2FL and it will be just a misunderstanding
