Nope, this isn’t after she regains her memory. Spoilers below.
She still has amnesia, and he’s still pretending to be her husband, though there’s a good reason behind his deception. At this point in the story, he is sent off to fight against invading forces. Uncertain if he would survive, he wrote a letter to his "wife," offering a divorce. His intention was to finally set her free so she could move on with her life. But to his astonishment, she followed the army for thousands of miles to catch up with him. Confronting him, she essentially said, “How dare you leave me, thinking all I care about is saving my own life. If you die on the battlefield, I must be there to bring you back home.”
Cui Jiu is the person Mian Tang was supposed to marry before she lost her memory.
No. After getting injured, Mian Tang was rescued by Cui Xing Zhou. Since she suffered from amnesia, she forgot that she ran away from her marriage with Cui Jui and believed Cui Xing Zhou to be Cui Jui. Cui Xing Zhou never corrected her because he intended to use her a bait to capture some bad guy.
Yeah, I feel the same way about the romance. It gave me "we fell in love because the screenwriter wants us to"…
Yup, well said. I think they should've remained friends then gradually fall in love after the sacrifice and memory loss. I'm not sure how it happened in the novel.
The show is ok so far. However, I wasn't very moved by the ML's sacrifice and the FL's reaction because the show failed to convince me that the ML and FL were already that deeply in love with each other. Their love story up to the point of the sacrifice has been a collection of overused clichés, plot conveniences, and comedic moments. The perfect emotional payoff was Tian Yao's sacrifice and Yan Hui's reaction from Back From The Brink. This one pales in comparison.
I deeply hate Chinese dramas that insist on having a sad or open-ended ending when the source material is explicitly happy. WHAT IS THIS OBSESSION WITH SUBVERTING THE SOURCE MATERIAL WITH SOMETHING WORSE!?!?!!? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE WRITERS!?
In saving Mi Lan's life, Shen actually cursed her. Now she has to watch the only man who has ever shown her genuine love and kindness die in 4K while she lives on. Yikes. Immortality (assuming that's what she received) is NEVER a blessing. It's the ultimate curse.
y'all mad at Situ for not helping Heng but if my brother was so unbelievably stupidly naive, I'd have to let him…
I dropped this drama after episode 11 because I can't stomach protagonists who are naive and stupid when they're not supposed to be. I get that he's trying to preserve his humanity. But some of his decisions and calculations are simply dumb. And his relationship with Li Ying is just obnoxious to sit through. I'm annoyed at Li Ying's obsession.
10 mins for a trailer is crazy 🤣 Considering that cdramas usually spoil a lot more than they should in their…
In the novel he bends the rules to marry quickly as his legal wife because another Prince had his eyes on her after their breakup. I’m not sure if the drama will follow a similar plot line. I hope it does. Because the way he saves her from marrying that creep is kinda epic. There is one bitch girl against the FL. She’s partly the reason why the FL broke up with the 2ML.
