I hate characters like Mo Fang. At first, they're too conflicted to do the right thing or be the bad guy. So, they allow themselves to be manipulated by someone else. I understand your frustration. However, If they made XZ omnipresent and omniscient then there would be a lack tension in the story. XZ would conveniently appear to solve all Shen Li's problems. Also, Shen Li could've asked XZ for help before facing the enemy. However, she's had already agreed to draw some boundaries between herself and XZ. So, she had to rely on herself.
It was a smart choice to make XZ near omnipotent but not omnipresent. This allows Shen Li to fight her own battle, otherwise all of her serious fights would lack tension.

Sorry, but the lead couple has very little chemistry between them. Their romance isn't convincing. While 'angst' is annoying when prolonged or done stupidly, it is a critical ingredient in a good romance. So far, their relationship seems too easy. There's been no real challenge for them to overcome. PY and WCY's romance is boring. They failed at every attempt to make it more interesting. For example, the romance from the cultivator couple from episode 24 felt more compelling because they had dangerous obstacles to overcome. Sadly, they couldn't, leading to a tragic end. That's a love story worth watching.
