Spoilers please.1. What episode do they get together.2. Any breakups.3. Any love triangle.4. Is it a happy ending.5.…
1. Episode 31 2. 1 breakup due to them being separated for 3 years but they get back together 3. No love triangle. She broke up with her fiance, Tian Benchang, very early on and she hated him afterward. There's only Luo Wenqian she has feelings for. 4. The ending is up to interpretation. I think it's a sad ending but others say it's happy. 5. The romance is very minimal. I think less than 30 minutes are dedicated to romance scenes. It's more of a family drama. 6. Only 1 kiss scene. The rest is a forehead kiss or hug.
Some reviews and the MDL rating are quite off (out of misunderstanding or mischief/antifans) for The Heir, IMO.…
This drama definitely deserves higher than 7.9. I loved the focus on ink making and family. Too bad it got review bombed on MDL with 1.0s at the start.
I thought this was a happy ending until the drama faded to black and showed that paragraph explaining what happened…
Yep, I read the chapter when they got married and the final chapterπ. I wish the drama followed that. It would've been so good. After everything Li Zhen went through, she deserved a happy ending with the man she loved.
I thought this was a happy ending until the drama faded to black and showed that paragraph explaining what happened to Li Zhen and the Li Ink techniques π
That aunt and uncle had the audacity to accuse Li Zhen of leaking the lacquer ink formula when she's the one that spent all that time and effort to recreate it π€¦π»ββοΈ
They would rather lose profits instead of having Li Zhen work for them. Where are they going to get the money to pay their workers now that the recipe has been leaked to other ink makers? Absolutely moronic people.
I expected the rating to go higher after a couple of days but it actually went down from a 7.8 to a 7.5. This is a solid 8.5+ drama. Why is the rating so low? I don't understand π
I wouldn't take MDL ratings seriously. Sometimes people rate dramas highly just because their favorite actors…
I'm just saying other people may have watched this just for the romance between Ren Jialun's character and Wang Herun's but got disappointed and lowered their rating.
I didn't know others commented badly on the actors and actresses. They were just doing their jobs and don't deserve the hate.
It sucks the drama rating went down even more. It used to be an 8.1 but now it's at 8.0. I think it at least deserves an 8.5.
Iβm reading the comments and seeing so many positive reviews, yet the drama rating dropped to 8.1 and still…

Yes, there are cameos from related dramas but viewers may not have watched those and end up confused and wondering who those people are and why they're so prominent in the last episode.
Regarding the characters' arcs, not everyone's going to have the same opinion as you and that's fine. There were times where the story felt draggy, the romance could've been better, and the ending could've been more satisfying. All valid reasons why the rating went down but it's still a solid drama worth watching.
This would've been a 9/10 for me but Ah Sheng and Jin Lun's character arcs disappointed me the most.
Ah Sheng dying and coming back as a black kitten to follow Xin Mei was sad. Her obsession with Xin Mei runs deep.
I like Riley Wang as an actor but he wasn't given much to do here. He's the 2nd ML but his screen time out of the 40 episodes was probably less than 20 minutes.
Is Jin Lun supposed to be the second ML? He barely shows up after 32 episodes. Lin Muhan, Meishan, and Bai Zongying appear more than him. Speaking of Bai Zongying, he's really pitiful. I wish he got his abilities back so he could do something about that evil sect member, Sima Randeng
Makiko is such a tragic character. I feel really bad for her after watching episode 8. I wonder how long she'll be in prison considering she shot Naoto's brother out of self-defense.
As for the romance with Junichi, I don't see that happening. Maybe he'll break up with his girlfriend in the last episode because he doesn't like her the way he does Makiko but I don't see a happy ending for Makiko/Junichi π
