Just reading the manga version😍 The manga versions of Duan Jiaxu and Sang Zhi look exactly like the drama versions of them. Reading it felt like watching Hidden Love all over again. I kept going back and forth between the episodes and the manga.😁❤️I do like the changes they made in the drama version.

Duan Jiaxu is such a green flag. When Hidden Love aired, “not just a green flag, but a whole green forest” became a popular phrase across Asian drama fandom spaces in 2023 because of how likeable his character was. I was swooning when I watched this drama and I was honestly shocked by some of these takes. We clearly saw both of their POVs and their lives and if you read Duan Jiaxu’s diary posted by Chen Zhe Yuan, his thoughts and intentions are even clearer.he is hardworking, caring, and did his best to make her happy and take care of her even while dealing with his own problems. The age difference is only five years. Just because someone is kind and caring and fun doesn’t mean their actions should be misinterpreted. And Sang zhi wanted to be a better person herself for him just like him😍I guess it really is true that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.
I see his love and intentions as pure and sincere,just as it’s shown in the drama. I hope everyone sees it too, with a pure heart.
Also This is one of the few dramas where we see such a genuinely green flag couple.💚💚no matter the age difference both are good people and they are an example of how healthy couple should be

Personally, the two dramas are best seen as separate works. The entire cast for all characters, personalities, set locations, age gap, tone, and even the timelines (meaning the timelines don’t match exactly) are different. While the novels are connected, the drama adaptations clearly chose to present them as standalone stories with a few nods and Easter eggs to acknowledge HL. Different actors brought their own unique interpretations to the characters, which adds to the distinct feel of each drama. The idea that one is told from another character’s point of view feels more like a fan theory than something intended by the creator.

Absolutely love this show so much and the entire cast❤️❤️😍! I’ve rewatched it so many times. Everything is just perfect — from the chemistry, the cast, the OST, to the entire vibe. It always makes me smile whenever I watch them. Loved it from start to finish. But I can’t help missing Sang Zhi, Duan Jiaxu, Sang Yan, and the entire original Hidden Love cast🦊🧸 — they left such a lasting impression. It’s hard to move on from them😪
