not gonna lie, the fact that this has a high chance of being becky's and freens last GL together, makes this show…
Yeah, it's maddening how you can put two actors with demonstrable chemistry in the same show and then refuse to create a plot that will just let them sizzle. Baffling.
I sat through the other two Elements series because I was eager for this one. But once again, the screenplay, directing, and editing are just abysmal. And that would not be the end of the world if Becky and Freen got to sizzle on the screen as they always do (their chemistry is amazing), but the show won't even let THAT happen. How hard is it to just give them an episode of sensuality? Instead, we get a retread of the same plot that has happened for multiple episodes. And don't get me started on the scenes with all the cousins together, which ought to be amazing (if handled by a decent writer and director), but here just consist of everyone kind of staring at one another trying to make their personalities and expressions do the work the script refuses to.
I'm having a hard time understanding why Kee's mother would leave her ... TO BE RAISED BY MEK. I don't know if she should be so easily forgiven. The show should've had a paternal grandmother or some other family figurehead.
I know my opinion here will be unpopular, but I want to see Faye paired with an actress who’s as old as she…
As for the title, you're wrong. To be "broken of" something (usually a habit, vice, or dependency) means to be forced to stop doing it, often through uncomfortable experience, discipline, or a drastic change in circumstances. So if someone is "broken of love," they have been forced to stop loving because of bad things that have happened to them.
Ugh. Such a disappointment.
