Too predictable!!!
Splitting the guys and girls into separate Infernos was such a bad idea. Contestants ended up choosing each other purely based on looks and first impressions instead of actually getting a chance to connect. In the previous three seasons, they at least had some conversations before making their choices. This time, half the girls were left with no real options from the start.
I also noticed so many couples with zero chemistry or compatibility still choosing each other in the end. Like... why is nobody breaking the cycle? 😭 I was convinced Jiyeon would reject Teahwan and finally shake things up, but unfortunately, she didn't.
And can we please stop making rejected contestants stand in front of the person just to get rejected again? That was so unnecessary. Watching Theo stand there in front of Sian at the end genuinely hurt.
Another thing that really bothered me was how one girl was portrayed as the "main character" and the final prize. At first, I thought people were exaggerating when they criticized the editing, but they were right. Almost every episode revolved around her and whichever guy was interested in her that week. It felt like more than half of every episode was dedicated to just one contestant.
Sian actually went from being my favorite female contestant to my least favorite. She took "exploring her options" way too far. After everything that happened with Junseo, I thought that should've been it. But then she still went on that lovey-dovey date with Jeongsu at the very end. That honestly made me feel bad for Jeongsu. I get that feelings and preferences can change, but they can't realistically change every single day. At that point, it just felt like she enjoyed the attention and wanted it from every guy.
Youjin, on the other hand, was too good for this show. I initially thought she'd be a player, but she ended up being the most genuine contestant. I just wish she had been more proactive and followed her heart instead of fading into the background halfway through.
Hyejin, Minseol, and Jiyeon were an absolute joy to watch. Their conversations and friendship were some of my favorite parts of the season. And I really felt bad for Hae-rin. Wild card contestants always seem to get the short end of the stick.
Overall, this season just didn't hit the same. The format, the editing, and the forced endgame pairings made it feel much weaker than the previous seasons.
