i had the same thought too, but when we think about it again, it was logical that he didn't 'fall' for the original her as he had this misjudgement abt her character as he thought she was a bully when they were in highschool, that somehow distorted the way he looks at her in in the present. and, he just never had the chance to get to know her true personality (through true version) but just somehow by chance feel attracted to her personality when she became someone else. so like, it's not like he's incapable to fall with the true version, there was just simply no situation that let him see her in a way he could fall for unlike the situation with the fake one
