Just because she went in past doesn't mean she will magically become a completely different person.(Stronger).…
So dying, magically time travelling to go into the past and getting a 2nd chance at life is all realistic but becoming a stronger character because of an incident as traumatising as death is not? I think witnessing her own death is a big enough reason for her to not remain the same. Misa's character is more conservative than realistic. Till episode 8 she was a strong and determined character but in the last 2 episodes she is written to be someone who is wilfully ignorant and over righteous, like the kind of woman a conservative society would label as "ideal."
The love story angle here was better than the korean version but the revenge plot was weak in this one. Even after dying once the FL still felt like an idiot to me. She also would have been long dead (again) if the ML hadn't saved her ass. Instead of showing the FL as a strong character who is now going to take her fate in her own hands and rewrite her story, they made the FL a "nice" character and made the drama into a good things are going to happen to good people anyway story.
this version is much more realistic and Satoh Takeru is literally chef's kiss. i could watch anything with him in it. but not gonna lie, i miss the ridiculous yet satisfying revenge/ confrontation scenes that the korean version had.
i have never felt this conflicted about anything. the age gap to me is honestly not that creepy because i have also watched goblin (the kdrama) and managed to completely ignore the weird age gap that they start off with. the way i see it, lex was always romantically in love with the 21-22 year old version of her and not her kid version? if i went back in time and saw my boyfriend as a baby or a 10 year old, i wouldn't be in love with that version of him.
for me the creepy angle only set in when they finally met and he was giving his monologue. the delivery made me feel like he had lost a bit of his sanity waiting for her (idk if that was the intention tho). that made me imagine lex sitting in a dark workshop, chipping at his nails and drawing millions of portraits of karen out of obsession.
so far, it is turning out to be the least favourite part of the univerkada series. for me, the chemistry topped in safe skies archer, followed by rain in espana. chasing in the wild was good but not something to write home about. the chemistry in avenues of the diamond tho... its not slapping at all.
cringing over the bad acting and simultaneously getting butterflies at the romance. drake saying "you are weird" to Alys while taking her back home was so hot. T_T
in portugal, at the end of the school year, we write messages on each other's notebooks and folders, so those…
notebooks and folders are common in my culture too. but we never write stuff like this. most of things written are very informal, childish and stupid, mostly about a shared memory or something. basically its something that would make the person laugh. but i guess that's a cultural difference :P
you are right about the secondary character thing tho. most of them have weird dialogues. but in many dramas even the main characters have weird dialogues..so well... xD can't expect a lot.
LOL you have to understand this was originally a wattpad novel so its very giving wattpad lol but yes, some of…
no, i totally get its a wattpad adaptation and that nostalgia factor is partly the reason i am watching it. i am just saying that maybe they could have changed some dialogues or scenes to make things more natural
this is somewhat of an enemies to lover trope but not like section e. section e is a better example of stockholm syndrome than enemies to lovers. sevi here is a green flag and a great guy.
the college girls saying wow sam you're so generous, sounds so funnyy. hahahahha. if someone said that to me in that tone i would 100% think they are being sarcastic and are taunting me. not to mention "sam you are so kind and generous" written on her slam book? why would any friend write something like that?? xD and clyden going "so this is who you really are" ahahahahahaha. i understand they are doing it to establish that she is indeed the "epitome of kindness grace, empathy.." but there has to be a better way xDDD
This storyline is an absolute mess with amateur acting and direction. Ashite Olviga is the only seasoned actor…
i wouldn't call ashtine seasoned. imo, she only appears so because the rest are terrible. the red haired guy, the black haired guy, literally any guy in the series are absolute idiots with 0 sense whatsover. the only way this toxic drama can be redeemed is if they show that every single guy regretted their actions and paid in some way for bullying and harassing people.
so far we have got a "leader" who physically harmed a girl but has faced no repercussions of his actions till now and a class full of idiots who are now the girl's "family" even though they bullied that same girl just because their "leader" said so.
the drama is 20% wattpad nostalgia and 80% assault to senses.
I accept your opinion that you think Yuri is a better option. But you can't claim that everyone would have chosen…
it might be his first role, but strongly don't think its right for viva to cast andres in a high visibility role like this. its unfair that the audience who are paying to watch this were denied a more convincing actor and have to watch an inexperienced person act out a beloved character. they made the nepotism to apparent. it was more appropriate to have andres work in smaller roles or theatre first to help him hone his acting skills. viva content is consumed heavily by international fans and they might be having the wrong impression of the capabilities of the filipino media industry.
I accept your opinion that you think Yuri is a better option. But you can't claim that everyone would have chosen…
oh..right.. i think i just remembered, keifer did have an internal monologue where he was talking about the possibility of having feelings for JJ after he broke her nose (that was supposed to be an important part, i blame the acting for reducing the impact of the scene and making me forget it). okay, i guess we can assume that he probably started to have feelings even before he told about the revenge plan to his friends. fair, i guess we can say that he is not obsessive. and Yuri refuses to let go off JJ even though he knows that she likes Keif thus showing his obsession.
yeah, i think i see your point better now :D.
Honestly, Ashtine and Rabin are better actors than Andres xD. JJ's trauma getting triggered and Yuri hovering around JJ, trying to make her happy and looking at her longingly was much more convincing. the feelings that they tried to portray at those points came through to me. Keifer comes across as a loud robot, so much so that I have a tough time understanding the character's feelings. I mean, sure he is supposed to be cold and rude and therefore can't be very expressive but atleast the internal monologues can be better or be delivered in a more convincing way so that the audience doesn't have to go all sherlock holmes trying to understand him.
totally agree that the drama is interesting. it's simultaneously bad and good. it's almost like a wattpad novel adaptation characteristic. i have watched all the instalments of the univerkada series (Rain in espana etc.) which are also adaptations of wattpad novels and found all of them to be similar in nature- bad but very interesting. xD
I accept your opinion that you think Yuri is a better option. But you can't claim that everyone would have chosen…
okay, my bad, of course everyone would not have chosen yuri. there would of course be people who chose keifer.
however, Yuri's rivalry thing that you have mentioned, purely till the extent that has been shown on air till now (and i am not taking into account the fact that we all know he is going to plot to blackmail and get engaged to JJ) is not exactly a violation of any sort. this level of rivalry is a part of any xyz love triangle. however, hitting someone with a ball on their face intentionally, make them bleed and encouraging others to hit that person is a violation. it is very evident bullying. treating Yuri's level of rivalry like a bigger offence is probably recency bias, because the latest episodes have been zooming in on Yuri's jealousy and Keifer's goodness.
also Yuri's rivalry and obsession is much on par with the entire classroom who fight with random people every second day. the number of places they have showed up to in tank tops is just insane. everyone is a nut job in that class. additionally, want to point out that Keifer is also very obsessive. so obsessed with getting revenge from Aries that he wanted to achieve it through emotionally hurting his cousin who had nothing to do with their entire feud.
lastly, not to invalidate anyone's opinions, but there might be a chance that some people prefer Keifer over Yuri because Keif is shown as the obvious protagonist. there tends to be bias in favour of characters who are shown as the lead
Note to anyone (primarily the aggressive fans) reading this comment: All my opinions are based on what has been aired till ep14. please don't start disrespecting based on parts of the book that has not been aired till now.
