It's meant to be a fun and silly show, not something too serious. I can understand why some people see it as average, and I respect that opinion. Still, it has enough moments to keep viewers interested. It's definitely not a bad show.

Joseon shaman seems like a key to FL's time-travel (she actually cast a spell somehow FL survived and migrated to the modern world).

Thanks for explaining me in details. I noticed that Jang Ok Jung got the Huibin status because she gave birth to a son (while Queen In Hyun couldn't).
I'm surprised that this FL character (Kang Dam sin) got the same title while she has never gave birth.

I'm surprised that it's based on Jang Ok Jung (yes I know her, and I watched that drama with Kim Tae Hee and Yoo Ahn In). That drama has portrayed Jang Ok Jung in a good light like a very good person. I haven't even thought Jang Ok Jung was considered as a villainess.
Another thing is that Jang Ok Jung and Queen In Hyun were married to the same King and they were rivals. Wow.

I mean genres like time-travel rom-com with a historical person time-travel to the modern era, not the other way round (like Mr Queen).

In ep 1, when FL meets the modern shaman/fortune teller, the shaman actually mentioned the names of 3 older time-travel romance dramas :
(1) Thousand Years of Love (2003) with Baekje Princess.
(2) Rooftop Prince (2012)
(3) Queen In Hyun's Man (2012)
(those are the same genre with this drama, I think the scriptwriter might take inspirations from them) .

I'm sure we all know Rooftop Prince and Queen In Hyun's Man; those are not long ago. I'm surprised with the first one which actually released in 2003.. wow it means this genre has been initiated since then.. even in 2026, this concept is still selling well..

Are the Joseon's characters here all fictional? or are there any inspirations from real historical figures?

Is the modern-day shaman lady the same person with Joseon era shaman, who told her, she has to die in order to live?

Newwie really fits these sassy, confident characters so well. He looks extra gorgeous in roles like this.

Has anyone read the novel yet? How is it? Are the characters engaging, and is the story good? Even though I don’t have high expectations from gmmtv scripts, hope it's good.
