OK, I'm going to write a few things that won't set well with many netizens and with the fans of the writer/director,…
I’m with you. I watch BL as an escape and to walk away with the warm and fuzzies. I like action ones or darker ones as well but if it’s a tug at the heart it’s a nope !!

Title Smile after Tears Spoiler
Smile After Tears was one I was very hesitant to watch because… let’s be honest… I don’t do sad shows. 😅

Thankfully, having a week between episodes made it much easier to handle. I was invested in the characters, but it never became completely heart-wrenching for me. That said, I can definitely see a lot of people reaching for the tissues, especially during the last couple of episodes.

Then the show gives you complete emotional whiplash. 😂

One minute you’re wiping away tears, and the next the ending theme bursts in with this bright, upbeat, poppy energy like, “Right! Enough crying, let’s dance!” 💃

The lead actor is a member of the Taiwanese boy group F.F.O, and the ending song, Too Cute to Handle, is available on streaming services. It’s ridiculously catchy.

I’m giving this one an 8/10… although the ending song probably earned it the extra 0.5 that I would have taken away purely because it made me watch a sad story. 😂

The series is very much about character development, with a small fantasy element introduced towards the end. It’s set in a school environment and keeps things very innocent, so don’t go in expecting kisses or NC scenes.

If you’re after a heartfelt coming-of-age story rather than a romance-driven BL, this one is definitely worth checking out.

Now this is a Korean BL that feels like a full-scale K-drama.

10/10 from me.

Outside of Secret Relationships (10/10) and The Peach Trap (8.5/10), I’ve often felt that many Korean BLs haven’t quite reached the level they’re capable of. The talent is clearly there, but too often the production, chemistry, or storytelling falls just short.

This series changes that.

The acting is outstanding, the chemistry feels genuine, the production quality is excellent, and the story keeps you completely invested. Nothing feels cheap or rushed. It proves that when Korea commits to a BL with the same care and quality as its mainstream dramas, the result is something truly special.

I genuinely hope this becomes the standard rather than the exception, because if Korean BLs continue at this level, the rest of the industry is going to have some serious competition.

I’m still confused over why they said that and it has so many likes. I’m wondering if there is a fandom thing or something about the actors I don’t know. I just know I enjoyed the show and their chemistry

Title Lost to You Spoiler
Lost to You was one of those shows I looked forward to every week.

I kept it sitting on a 💚 the whole time because I was convinced it was going to emotionally destroy me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an emotional story, but surprisingly it never hit me with the level of sadness I was bracing for.

The chemistry across both couples was great, and the relationships felt believable as they developed.

And the tattoo scene… excuse me while I respectfully replay that in my head. 😮‍💨🔥 Whoever directed that scene understood the assignment. The tension, the closeness, the way it was filmed… let’s just say the tattoo wasn’t the only thing leaving a lasting impression.

The second couple also delivered some genuinely good intimate moments, while still balancing them with plenty of sweet, cute scenes.

So from a storyline, acting, chemistry, and my completely unbiased appreciation of that tattoo scene… I genuinely enjoyed it.

🚨 Ending spoilers below. Skip the rest if you don’t want the ending ruined. 🚨

Now.

Who approved that ending?! 😭💀

It genuinely felt like the writers got offered new jobs halfway through the finale, packed up their desks, and handed the script to a group of interns whose only qualification was a Certificate III in Unsatisfying Endings from the University of Boringville.

After everything the series built up… that was the payoff?

I wasn’t angry. I was just sitting there staring at the credits thinking, “That’s it? That’s what we’re doing?”

The journey was enjoyable. The destination apparently took a wrong turn and never came back.

This series was comfortably tracking towards an 8 to 8.5/10 for me…

…then the ending showed up with a wrecking ball.

So it finishes on a 7.5/10. A good series, a frustrating finale, and a reminder that you can absolutely fumble at the one-yard line.

can I just ask the writers to please remember the storyline already. he had a crush on him. then when he is kissed by his crush he runs away in shock that’s fine but then he acts like he doesn’t know what his feelings are like he didn’t already have a crush on him. I’m confused
