I think he knew nothing would happen to her because he have been training her since she was seven and also all the codes and the rules he made when he opened the shop was also a way to protect her and I think he knew bale would come sooner or later but I don’t think he thought it would be this soon I know there would have been other ways to protect her and I agree with that. But maybe there is more to story that we don’t know about so they might reveal it on this season.
