You speak for many of us. The beginning was hilarious - if Joseon Royal Consort was suddenly reincarnated into…
Yeah like I really loved the grandma but I really thought killing her off was so unnecessary… Instead they could have made her get married to Se-Gye’s grandpa lol that would have been anothet cliche but much more fun 😂😂😂
I understand your point, and I actually agree with part of it. Students who commit serious crimes such as drug…
oh wow! okay I didn’t see it like that at all! It does make a lot of sense tho! Thank you for clarifying! This is indeed problematic. I guess the reason why I didn’t notice anything wrong with it at first was probably bcs the show was so cathartic. I think if I had ever been bullied I would have liked sth like erpb to come and bring peace. Ofc the kids should be brought to court and prison just like that female student ended up in one. But I think there were some cases when some students stood above the law due to their parents or their age etc. And ofc this would never work in a real world in modern times. Maybe in the past, when corporal punishment was still a thing in many countries up until the 90s (including in Korea…) So I guess whoever wrote this webtoon must have been someone in favor of corporal punishment. Which in the end is their own opinion and this drama is in the end just a work of fiction. Which was very fun for me to watch but I can totally understand now why some people might find it problematic
I feel like you maybe didn’t understand the message of the drama and that you were not up-to-date with Korean news. In no means should teachers abuse their powers and beat up students over nothing. Beating up students for not doing their homework or not following the rules is absolutely unforgivable! But this drama is not about that. This drama is about punishing students who not only disrupt teachers’ jobs but also the students’ will for wanting to study and learn and have normal and peaceful school days. The ERPB punishes the students, teachers and parents who think of themselves as someone special and accordingly gives them a special treatment too. If teenagers can do horrifying things like beating up other kids, emotionally harming teachers and even selling drugs, then they deserve the same punishments as adults who are comitting the same crimes. They are not kids anymore. They are teenagers with highly and properly functioning brains that are capable of doing and thinking independently. They are not naive babies who nees to be protected. They know whats right and whats wrong and if they choose the wrong thing and still don’t listen to words, then they have to listen to actions… And not only teachers suffer from these delinquent students, but other students as well…
That’s an interesting view point and analysis! I really like that! I didn’t really see it that way but it definitely makes sense to me. I was also shocked by that ending or should I say underwhelmed? But I still liked the message: That death might not be the only end…
I am sorry but I disagree with this. I had a completely different experience. If it helps, please read my review. You might see the drama in a different light.
I agree with the age gap situation and the somewhat lowkey boring plot. For me the drama started to get more interesting when they started revealing Grim Reaper’s past life and his connection with the Goblin. And nope, the Goblin and Eun-tak already kissed a few times when she was still a student / underage… And yes this age gap thing is VERY problematic!!! It is basically a story of romanticising the act of grooming through a fantasy story…
However, apart from this the story was pretty decent. I loved the Grim Reaper for example so I guess it is a bit hard writing a bad review on a drama you didn’t watch. However, if the age gap thing turned you off so much then not watching it was probably the best decision.
omg wtf did I just read????? You definitely did not understand this movie at all!!!!! in order to fight for their rights, they HAVE TO show how women are mistreated and exploited by the entertainment industry. if they wouldnt show those scenes we would be asking ourselves why Hee-Ran is making such a scene and being a crazy bitch. They actually should have showed more violence and oppression so that the message and rage becomes clearer… This is not the same as some American movie that uses sex just for the means of having it with no further message. but this drama has a proper and a very important message about misogyny, sexism, female objectification, oppression, exploitation of women in the film industry and entertainment industry in general and most importantly female solidarity…
>Well actually, the not leaving the house thing is very real! The drama is talking about not leaving their…
rooms because they are living with other people. But there are cases of people living alone not leaving the house as well. Just because it’s a condition you never heard of doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen… just a quick research online could have provided you with sufficient information about this mental health issue. It’s a real thing and I think the drama did a good job in portraying the complications…
I watch a lot of kdrama too and i never saw a story like Rosa’s before tbh
omg i agree about mirae being kinda lame and boring compared to miji! but!!! Kim Rosa???? What was bad about her???? Her story was so impactful and sad!!! I was definitely very intrigued! And it was quite touching! Cried a lot!!! So i dont quite understand why you didn’t like it… Well yeah that breakup was so cliche and unnecessary 🙄 Ho-su really annoyed me most of the time tbh 😂 Well actually, the not leaving the house thing is very real! There was even a documentary about people with severe social anxiety that they cannot leave their homes. The same thing exists in Japan. There is even a word for people like that: Hikikomori. It’s definitely not a made up or exaggerated thing… It’s very real especially in South Korea…

I also wrote a review on all the things I loved! And I just couldn’t find one single flaw in this drama!
