It’s not that great, but it wasn’t that bad either.

What I really like about this series are the casts specially the main characters. Sung hoon’s acting is not that bad it’s more natural than Jay, jay is a little bit awkward and sometimes i can feel that he’s uncomfortable. Specially in their kissing scene, sung hoon is kissing him moving his lips and jay’s lips were stiff and didn’t move. But I like how their love story grew from friendship to lovers even though we didn’t see when their friendship starts and how jay decided to go to korea to study and to stay with sung hoon also their courses I think it’s not realistic though it’s a fiction we didn’t see enough story about them, I think understand why they decided to use the title “Eccentric Romance” because of unusual theme of bl maybe because the series is about the friends turn lovers but there’s a murder thing involved because the suspect and the victim is having a conflict cause one them have feelings, and the unexpected romance between the friendship of 2 different nationalities . There’s a lot of room for improvement for the story and the way they execute it, they could’ve done a lot better. They were trying to give a different or unique storyline which they did but the outcome wasn’t that great. Although I was entertained and smiled because I was hooked up by the leads I mean they could’ve done better they and showed better. I have no problem with 2 different language speaker leads however if you’re going to show to the peple this kind of set up at least make a clear story or explanation about it and make it more realistic. Overall I’ll give this a 7.5/10 bc of sunghoon and jay i think they did they’re part it’s just that their producers and writers are not creative enough to make this series more beautiful and reasonable. That’s why I said the story wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad either I think the producers need to be more creative in the future if they still have a plan to create a series with a theme like this, I like Peach of time which they also created, but Im not really that satisfied though it was good but still something’s really lacking the way they create and produce a series with a theme like this I just feel bad for their casts they are good but the producers writers and directors are such a waste. Maybe I’ll rewatch this if I miss jay and sunghoon’s cute moments.

Focused on the leads

What I like about this mini series is even if it’s a short series they abled to showcase the love story of the main leads, they focused on them. I was just smiling the whole time, it is short and simple but wholesome. I hope all of producers of short kbl should do this if they can’t produce a big series atleast try to create a reasonable one, Im getting tired of watching long story bl series with lots of unnecessary plots, stories that’s not relevant to the main lead it’s a waste of time like watching for 12-13 eps with 1 hr or more per episodes and then you will just see the story of the main lead getting together and kissed at the end of the series. Ive watched a lot of short kbls and most of them tried to be very creative even in a short period of time making it unreasonable at some point and left a lot of room for improvement, but this one im very satisfied because they focused on the main leads. I didn’t say it’s perfect though it is really good for a short series.

Wholesome

What can I say about this? This series hits different as this shows the real life experience of a gay/queer man, this is so relatable I experienced the same exact experience of Go young (except having Kylie on me Im negative) in this big city. You will meet a lot of people specially guys and will experience a lot including happiness, love, pain and all of that. I just love how the series ends, it shows a true situation of a gay man who’s regretting and realized things but his hope for finding the love again is still there even if he’s tired and make a lot of wrong decisions. This is so realistic, unlike any other series that has a fictional storyline and always happy ending story. This series is not sad for having a bad story of something this is sad because it shows the real life experience of gay man, I cried because I can relate to young I felt the lost of someone bc you need to let them go, and in the end you just need to hope that someday someone will come and give you the love that you deserved. I really like Gyu and young to have a sequel even if just one special episode or movie that shows Gyu’s pov how he felt and how was he when they broke up and went to china because we saw young’s pov after their break up. And I was hoping in the end that they will be happy together I just feel bad because they love it other they deserve to find each other again after realizing what’s lacking in their relationship. Im not expecting for S2 and such because in the book they have the same ending as the series. But im hoping they could make atleast a movie or one episode that shows gyu’s pov 🥹
