Title The Immortal Ascension Spoiler
😢… figures… hopefully she lives a good life! 🙏
Yes, I meant aside from that. Like being safe from that creepy dude, doing well with her apothecary, etc. And doesn’t she eventually get reincarnated and becomes his concubine (?) or something like that?

how's this so far? Still deciding whether to start while still airing or binge later?
Good but you can let it finish and see reaction to the ending.

Guys, anyone knows how long HL has been in his sect now?
Based on what one character said in Ep. 16, it’s been about 10 years.

Very interesting, thank you. That’s probably why some actors tend to focus on historical dramas instead of switching genres, correct?

ah wtf why this is 1 hour per episode lol🤣🤣
We have to let it go… Trying to correct episode length is as futile as removing “romance” tag.

go on... you will find it yourself. The answer you are looking for is revealed in episode 14 I think so
Juat think of a sect as a workplace — even if a sect/company is “good”, doesn’t mean everyone work studies/works there is a good person. Cultivators are NOT saints 😁

Title In the Name of Blossom Spoiler
I was told that this storyline was not inside the original novel. So a bit weird this was added in. It feels like…
Let’s be honest, the first 15-16 episodes of Season 2 are a filler because the writers were trying their hardest to keep the leads apart (let’s make them take turns being in prison!) or to undo their strong bond from Season 1 by having a series of misunderstandings (like the broken pin, etc.). They should have made it a 40-episode single season series 😒And I really like the actors here (even one playing evil 2ML & 2FL), enjoy music, sets, etc.

Haha… I forgot it’s a historical C-drama so I should have worded it “whomever voiced” 🤣 I only accidentally stumble on nuggets of info about voiceovers like here or with LBFAD (Dylan Wang didn’t voice ML). Looks like WCR’s character was voiced by Duan Yi Xuan (the idol? 🧐). Is it true this practice is more common in historical dramas to make actors sound more authentic?

At some point I was so annoyed at writers of dramas I was watching at the time, I went back and re-watched Are You the One 😳 It’s not a mega-budget, high-concept drama, but — personally — I love the fact writers avoided annoying tropes/cliches, characters behaved rationally (i.e., we could understand their motivations), and the tone is relatively light. Well, and the lead pair was so lovely. Definitely would be a hard drama to dub well because the tone of Zhang Wan Yi’s voice is so, so good and Wang Chu Ran also came across well. To be fair, this is coming from me; maybe they sound differently to a native speaker :)

Fair point about reading the screen :) If Asian dramas went multi-season, I’d worry about writing quality. Unless it’s based on a very good, very long book/comic, I shudder to imagine what will happen. Even now, dramas are so full of same tired tropes & cliches and very questionable plot decisions made just to prolong the plot. Even having great cast and solid budget doesn’t help. Most recent example is Flourished Peony and its sequel. They should have made it one 40-episode series instead of coming up with ever creative ways to keep main heroes apart in season 2 😒😠😤

Most Western dramas are created to be long-running (not too many “limited series”) because that’s better for the studios. Especially in the days before streaming — studios made $$$ once shows were sold off to syndication [repeats to be red on cable channels instead of original main channels]. Syndication generally required 100+ episodes so that’s approximately 5 seasons of 24-episode per season show. P.S. I have to read subtitles either way so it doesn’t matter the country. Although, dramas from Philippines are a bit easier to watch because they use a lot of English in their speech.

How did the good guys not see / predict / prepare for what happened in Episode 19? What.. the .. heck 😳😒🧐
Sure, part of the army (including the general) supposedly blew up in Ning’s mansion, but what about general’s son and the rest of the large army? Wouldn’t you think that the son would be seeking revenge and still come to help? 🧐

Good thing there are hundreds of costume/historical dramas per year 😆 FWIW, I tend to think that for modern dramas Chinese high-school / university dramas are better than Korean (when comparing best examples; too many dramas are just bad or not great). “When I Fly Towards You” is amazing (and I’m well past my school & college years). You can watch it because it’s set in 2012 — that’s practically ancient history (FL makes diaries on video camera 📹). 🤣🤣🤣
