Point well taken. I actually think they could’ve simply solved cases for all of the drama and kept corporate affairs to the minimum. And if cases are interesting, viewers would be happy with more episodes:)

Right, it was Singapore. What I meant to say is that oftentimes TV shows use stock footage of a particular city for general outdoor shots (like city skyline, traffic, even outside of a building) while in other scenes actors are filmed elsewhere. For example, in American shows they often use stock footage of New York or Los Angeles even though a show is shot in Canada (like in Vancouver).

There were really good dramas with 16 episodes or more but our brains 🧠 wiped away memories of all the many other dramas where writers ran out of ideas and inserted filler episodes, especially with multi-episode breakups towards the end.
We still have those breakups now too, but instead of 3-4 episodes, it’s half an episode or an episode 🤣

I really enjoyed episodes 1-8 but 9-10 were disappointing. Even if the breakup is a fakeout by writers, we spent most of the episodes on corporate drama and grandma’s dumb superstition.

I normally don’t mind corporate intrigues but here it just feels a bit out of place and not what people want to see. I kind of expected ML to hold FL’s hand (for example, to prove she is normal), start seeing ghosts again and that’d lead us to resolving the incident on the yacht.

Also unhappy with grandma. I’d assumed she’d have some sort of a hidden important justification but it’s simply “because shaman said so” 🤨🙄😞

We all expected her reasoning to be something very important or dramatic. But it turned out to be something silly — “shaman said so” 🙄

It was shot in Singapore, so most likely. They could’ve faked Singapore locations using stock footage otherwise. But they actually flew out actors and crew for this.

If this series had 16 episodes, we’d have a 4-5 episode breakup story arc. Now we will have 0-1 episode (maybe half episode? maybe fake breakup?).

Yes, I think it’s quite possible a breakup is going to be fake and it’s a fake out by screenwriters (that’s not uncommon, just like almost-kiss at the end of one episode almost never becomes a full kiss in the next episode, lol). I haven’t watched the original movie, so I can’t draw any parallels though and just talking as a casual viewer (like most of the audience). And based on the comments here, I think many people think episodes 9 & 10 lost a little bit of steam because they got too busy with corporate shenanigans.

Just finished watching Our Sticky Love and, while beginning of that show wasn’t as good as this show, it did a great job of keeping the plot on track without detours and managed to evolve from a romcom into a very touching story that had some nice surprises & twists in the second half.

Anyway, let’s hope our spooky couple finishes strong too! 👻

It’s pretty common to have a breakup but it felt strange in this drama because the engagement was faked for a purpose of reviving reputation of the wedding venue. So now that’s going to go downhill even more? 🙄

Yes, probably wait until you can watch the finale. It’s not a super cliffhanger but more of a frustrating trope 🙄

It’s also a bit ridiculous to break up because the fake engagement was needed to improve wedding hall reputation. Breakup is definitely only going to ruin that (in addition to all the other things FL is facing).

Just because there was a breakup in an old movie, doesn’t mean it was worth keeping a tired trope in the drama. I know that it’s still common to have it in dramas but here the breakup makes no sense. The whole reason for the fake engagement was to improve reputation of that wedding venue. Now not only is the company and FL under investigation, FL is going to break up again?

I don’t feel quite THAT harsh but I’m also let down by episodes 9 & 10. Maybe I feel particularly disappointed because I just finished Our Sticky Love and that show actually got a lot better as it went along and instead of a trope-y romcom became a very moving story with an unexpected amount of action sequences.

You wrote exactly what I wrote just a few comments above. Instead of doing the fun detective work with ghosts (or even investigating her accident), they spent way too much time on corporate intrigues, corruption frame up and now a breakup 🙄😳
