I'm just watching for the sake of completing it right now not for the entertainment it offers in the first half.…
I actually dropped LGIEF aeound the arc of ML s origin. I saw it was becoming quite boring, and the scenes were being thrown at us for the sakes of filling episodes. The fact that the whole series s premise was quite silly did not help. I find this drama, despites of it s ow flaws, to be more interesting and more mature than LGIEF.. And I think in comparing series, the keyword would be personal taste. The fact we love something does not mean it is an international masterpiece and others who don't like it are morons, and the fact we don't like it does not make it a bad series. And personally, there is too much drama out there to force ourselves in watching one. Once the flame is not there anymore for me, I just leave it and try a new one. If others are enjoying it, good for them.
Song Xiaoyu is a rare female lead—real, strong, and unapologetic. Some may call her a red flag, but she loved…
I actually enjoy seeing her interactions with the ML. While a lot of people though their relationship was going nowhere for some time, I did not though the same. She may still say no with her mouth, but there were hints where she was progressively stoping seeing him as an enemy. Lol I loved how she started running away from the proposal scene in ep31, when she realized he was making her ridiculous wishes come true. She was like: nope, I see what s coming next, better dash away frome here.
In China tradition and culture, they value family ties above everything. It's a big sin if you betray your own…
Let's not forget there was a real relationship between them. The uncle is evil, and is using him to stay close to power, but genuinely cares about him. It's not like we don't have complicated relationships with people in Real life. Sometimes it's more about wanting them to be Better, than wanting them to die for what they did.
All because a 3 year old or smth felt bad for possibly hurting a watermelon. SIR CALM DOWN it’s not that deep🧍♂️
I actually could have had more respect for this way of thinking if not his actions. Like raising a child to be a ruthless emperor so the court can't eat him whole is quite understandable. But being a corrupted official embezzling founds that should have serve the population of your potential emperor while hoping for him to forever cover you. Sir you are not that noble.
Listen, I love this drama to bits and am fully committed to watching to the end but the writer dropped the ball…
She was not putting an emphasis on her parents dying, but the next scene in EP 29 when the parents of SYM are bound to die. She is always expecting the key scenes, and since raiding the song manor is one, she dropped this details to explain why she can't just watch them die. She sais she could not save her parents, but YM s. The fire thing is just some details added to explain how her original parents died
For real! And those who don’t see the deeper meaning to this drama are fools. Like it’s a story within a story.…
And it's funny to see how she held so much prejudices on ML, while she loves LSL unconditionally, even when she doen't know his face, or though he was gay lol. The director s take is beautifully made, and it is sad he had to come out to defend SYM s character while we should have been able to pick it up ourselves. But I am very stressing for the end. It's a good thing we will know they will at least have an HE
Imho (which evidently differs from most of opinions expressed below), CGH's obsession with NH is greatly logical.…
You forgot the man get interested in his fiancee too, and snatched the engagement away from him. And let s not forget he think he is a good guy, while NH, who is clearly infamous, is still getting away with everything.
For real! And those who don’t see the deeper meaning to this drama are fools. Like it’s a story within a story.…
Agree. She is aware this is a story she already know, and want to change the script. And whether she recognizes things has changed, especially the ML, will occur on how smart she is. And let s not kid ourselves, the girl is quite silly lol. And I personally love her for that, the same way I love the ML of my journey to you, who was a breath of fresh air in a rather dark drama full of scheming characters. And the fact that she is an actress who had played must of the cliché scènes make it difficult for her to connect in a spiritual level to the people here. She consider only herself as a real human being, and even if she started to understand the ML, she still chose to save herself over him. And even if some choices the production team made were not 100% my liking, I truly respect their work and trust their direction, because asides of the story itself, you can see their put a lot of effort in the drama. There is so much things to appreciate in it that I can't get why people chose to concentrate on one thing and pour out hatred as if the whole show was garbage.
Love this. Love the female lead and I think she makes a lot of sense. The original NH character put her in a barrel!!!…
Let's not forget that she herself is an actress too , and a lot of scenes that could have feel heartfelt for a clueless person, turn flat to her who have played them a lot of times ( even if her acting is terrible lol). Remember the scene when ML mother shut them in a room together so they could spend the night together bonding? A normal person could have felt embarrassed, but the girl just went with it and did not dig further in the set in lol. She was so casual about it.
I totally get where you're coming from — no one’s denying that Nan Heng was awful in the beginning. Yes, he…
You are right. It is as complicated the writers choose to make their relationship. And honestly z it's quite realistic in my opinion. It is frustrating to see how slowly the relationship is going, but it's not because the characters are not well written, or because the writers themselves don't know what they are doing. Let's wait to see how this unfold before we grow more unnecessary grey hairs about it.
I totally get where you're coming from — no one’s denying that Nan Heng was awful in the beginning. Yes, he…
I think the problem lays here. We forget we have informations on both sides that neither have one each other. SYM does not see NH the way us viewers do, and NH can't understand why she has so much prejudice over him. Yes he did fell for her and would want her to see him in a new light, but even if she now believes he is no longer the monster he was from the previous script , she still can't afford to trust him because how the story still gravitate around the original plot. She has been wrong in her calculations, yes, but the results still prove her how trapped she is, and she certainly had no desire to die in the story of a man she dislikes. But I guess their dynamics will shift now, since some truths has came to life, and I loved how she wanted to warn him the army was in his den, and how she defended him when his men lost faith in him. She now can reconcile the 2 characters, but I wonder if she will now risk to let the script ties their fate together, since she obviously still loves him, how she will try to run away again from him and the script.
So can someone explain to me - does Nan Heng's other identity as Li Shi Liu exist in the original script? My understanding…
So far it s not sure the story had been re-written, or if it is the original story, but she made so many changes it went along with her and kept the major points. What concerns me the most is they could be actually in the first script. Everything changed, except for EP 17 where she was still forced to confess her feelings to her father. The scene went exactly the way it was in the script she read, and it was so random and forced, contrary to the changements she had unconsciously made for the other scene. My take is the story has to follow the key scenes, but if other events don't shape the scenes for her, it will just be delivered the original way it was supposed to be.
Y’all… do you realize this is exactly what the screenwriter planned? When the FL read the script, we were…
That's remind me of the books of Harry Potter. I and most friends spent 6 and half book hating on Snape, the hatred getting it s pick when he killed Dumbledore and took over Hogwarts. I so wanted to see the man s demise because i wanted him dead more than Voldemort himself. Then we were hit with the revelation that he has always been on the good side. I even read some parts of the books again for him, searching for any clue the author have left, and was so disappointed he could not have any other glorious moments. Well, he still was a shitty teacher who bullied little kids, but his redemption arc made him upto my 10 fav characters in the books. I think something similar happened with the show, but this time, with us knowing, and seeing how the characters really is . But most people are not able w or just refuse to balance each part and try to understand both parties. I get why people are frustrated since the 2 can't make peace already, but I don't get the hate, the choice to make her a 2 dimensional character who should just fall for a toxic man just because he is hot. And hot the man is!
This drama just pissing me off lately. Honestly considering dropping it
Then do yourself a favor, drop it, and go watch something that is more in your taste. There is too much tv drama out there to hold on on something you don't enjoy watching
